He was complaining about Rivals moving him down the rankings

Spencer Dowland just decommitted. From my understanding he was given an offer when every one thought that we’d have 105 scholarships.

I think I posted recently that some of the recruiting guys didn’t expect him to stick in the class. Just don’t think he developed like they thought he would

The 247 and On3 rankings have their notable differences that we don’t need to rehash here. 247 is a little more generous probably
Rivals, however, has some consensus 3* 247/On3 guys as 4* guys: Ghea, Arnoux, Turner, Deas, & Ellis.
OL Jacobe Ward, WR Erick Smith, and P John McGuire are the only 3 without a 4* on at least one service

Losing out on the 105 limit meant the staff had to make hard decisions…. such as offering scholly to E. Smith instead of Dowland.

I feel better about Offord now than I did at this time last week.
Offord hasn't been visiting Ohio St pretty much most of the season. But he usually shows up on his visits unannounced. If he shows up this weekend here at Auburn, then we have to like our chances.

Offord says Florida is in it now.

The SEC holding off on adopting 105 is probably for the best. It’s going to be an absolute mess trimming rosters and walk-on numbers down to 105. It will eventually be good for taking long term projects like Dowland but it will be horrible for walk-on level players who want to go to a power school.

They’ve lost a decent amount of recruits over the past month or so. They can probably focus more NIL money towards specific players.

Offord is open to the highest bidder. Florida has a ton of available NIL.
I think we end up overpaying for him.
Also more worried about Oregon than Florida.

Seriously, it's not our money. Pay him a zillion dollars whatever

Well, Lets pay 13 basketball players before we start talking like this.
We are poor.

Florida worries me for Tavaris Dice, he has been visiting them a lot and they have one very low ranked IOL signed in this class. He would be the lone Tackle.
We really cant afford to lose him in this class.

The basketball NIL/football nil are kept entirely separate, football is no where near broke.

Yeah without Dice this would basically be a Gus/Harsin level OL class.
