That would be Harsin.
Even if the cupboard was stacked the better players would just leave either when Gus was fired or when Harsin ran them off.

He should have kept running the shite that worked for him. He let people influence him out of his spot.
Totally agree. It was my biggest issue with him. He was a dumbass for changing totally and not just making adjustment to that system

won games that he shouldn't have, but also lost games that he shouldn't have.
I think that is every coach. And I agree. Im not saying we didnt need to get rid of him. Just reminding the posse that it was not all bad.

Not arguing that, but he didn't run the program in the ground.
My point with that was that Saban came in a arse raped Tubbs in 2008. Tubbs totally quit and 2008 happened. He was not going to do well against Saban while Chizik/Gus and then Gus atleast stood up and fought him
I really liked Tubbs but he was around when Alabama was not at full strength. Gus and Chizik faced him in the best run in college football history
They are just not the same

His greatest success was a gimmick negated by a single rule change.
His style of football was perhaps the most dull, mundane thing I've ever watched.
He had to be forced to even acknowledge the defensive side of the game.
His recruiting is the reason we're in the deepest hole I've seen Auburn football in during my lifetime.
Pretty much none of this is true.

Yoiu’re partially correct. In my opinion.
BH ran the program into the ground, but he did NOT inherit good roster.
I will say…even if BH did inherit a better situation/roster…I do believe he would’ve ran that into the ground as well.

He inherited a very good roster that needed some linemen. He ran off all the talent and replaced it with shite recruiting. I dont remember the numbers but we had a very high ranked roster when he took over.
Hell, Gus's last two classes were #13 and #8

So whats an ideal finish in order of probability:
Sam Turner,Lockhart, Deuce, Offord, Cunningham, Babalola? Pretty good odds on first three , maybe on next two, and lucky on the last?
Who else?

Coaching turnover didnt help. BH running kids off didnt help. Gus's last class he couldn't finish out we stuck by Armani Goodwin through a torn ACL just for him to catch wind Gus was getting fired and he then commit to LSU. Gus was a lame duck at that point. In reality back then fired coaches meant roster turmoil.
Before Harsin left we literally had NIL keep a TE on the books despite Harsin dismissing him. Stuff like NIL can also help ease roster turmoil.

Some HORRIBLE takes in this thread. But it’s the recruiting thread so I’ll let it go

I keep thinking Babalola is going to Michigan, but I’ve heard he has a very good relationship with our staff and is very close to one of our recruiting staff members.

Good catch Charlie, how could I have missed those two.
Those would go in the maybe category? Sounds like Kromah is a slight lean to FSU, and Scroggins not coming to big cat was a little surprising maybe he is more solid to Miami than we thought.

Smuphy,
Hopefully thats enough to sway Babalola.
I got a kick out of that big cat film khal ellis saying he text Babalola every morning, every morning.
Speaking of, in that film you see the offensive line guys, and Pink was right. He said if you see Dice, well lets just say if he misses out on a football career....he has a future in the WWF. That son of a gun is built, all 295 lbs of him.

Christian Clemente had an interesting stat today. 11 of Auburn’s Top 50 recruits all-time have come under Hugh Freeze already.
He’s still gotta land them of course but that’s an amazing start.

Beat the shite out of Gus. Equally as embarrassing as New Mexico. Minnesota, etc.
