If it is the same goalline passing drill that was in the video that he is talking about, yea they struggled.

it has to be hard for the WRs to get separation when the defense knows the exact route their running

For sure. It is a two man drill, condensed to one side of the field, condensed to ~15 yards of depth. Still some drops they shouldn't have had and some bad placements or late throws. I'm still curious why all the fade route throws were all so low and behind the player. That has been two different videos where that was consistently the case, so there has to be a reason for it. Maybe going for PI calls if our guy can't make the tough catch, who knows.

Hugh got into it with Jackson when he held the ball on one where he had Singleton break free on the out, think he was staring downt he back receiver.

Yeah, it was mentioned that there were timing issues and that Freeze was visibly upset with Arnold holding the ball way too long. Seems to be a recurring theme with JA, and AU QBs in general lately. Its frustrating watching other teams be able to throw the ball 40 times a game with little concern, but we are somehow stuck in 1997 when it comes to throwing the ball. Our passing game looks so pedestrian compared to just about every other team in cfb. Its just frustrating when the coaches and players change, but the shitty passing game stays the same.

That report also included this little tidbit: "Deuce Knight, by far, had the best week of practice of the 3 QBs..."

Freeze admits he called the majority of the plays at Ole Miss and Liberty, but here at Auburn, he "trusts" Nix to make the calls. frick this guy. he was hired for his playcalling abilities and now he wants to delegate. Most punchable face in the SEC

Yea, but i've also seen reports that he has been pretty great with the quick passing game throughout camp, so seems like he was doing better with it. May be struggling this week, obviously though.

Freeze has to say that. One of the stipulations, in Nix's contract at Ole Miss, was he had to be the primary play caller if he went somewhere else.

Don't worry guys. Totally fine for the offense to suck against the defense

Wasn't that the last year we had a top passing offense?
