Gonzalez threw a bullpen session and to live batters Monday and was reportedly "good" in both. Mechanics are the concern coming off the shoulder surgery. Still no word if he will be ready by the SEC weekend opener against Vandy.

Through 3.2 Tigers up 2-1. Troy pitcher (#2 of the game) has to come out due to an injury maybe?
Side note: Weiss and Peirce both out with I believe sickness. Can’t seem to get everybody healthy. Caden Green at SS tonight. Hopefully that changes by the weekend.

I almost feel like Peirce is simply being held at this point to give him some rest and not rush him back for a midweek game, get him ready for the weekend.

Green hits one deep enough to center for a sac fly rbi. 5-1

Butch presser:
1. Players will need to get acclimated to the Vandy fake grass.
2. Gonzalez seems ready to go, Butch says the last step for Joseph is "within himself". Just seemed like in his talking about Joseph, it is a mental game now.
3. Peirce took bp in Huntsville but Weiss did not travel. Says they are "back" and "thinks they will be available". McMurray apparently got the bug too but pushed through.
4. Says G. Miller is pushing for starting spot, "yeah, I think he's earned more".
5. E. Guevara, freshman infielder had knee surgery and was thought to be out for season, could come back in a couple of weeks and offer another option.
6. Spoke very highly of C. McBride, says he could become an option for weekend rotation but likes him a lot for the midweek games. Asks to not discount the midweek games, says they are important. But he admits he would be the most likely guy if a change needs to occur for weekend rotation.
7. Likes C. Tilly as a middle reliever.
