ON3 is saying they still feel good about Cobb and English, both of which they expect to pick Auburn this coming weekend.

Dukes on 247 says our NIL is getting it together and getting active. Hard to believe given the circumstances

I have seen it said but it's been awhile since I last saw something about them "getting it together". How long does it take to get this shite together?

Many schools seem to have figured it out, or least appear to, why haven't we?

The day after the rules were changed for everyone else. Meanwhile, Auburn is still “figuring it out” over a year later.

And while we stumble all over ourselves trying to figure out NIL and some players threaten to leave, and we arbitrarily throw money at them.....we probably pissed off a lot of current players in the process, by not offering, or for offering too little too late. Hence they leave, and what do they say "Im a whore and wanted money"

Nah thats got to be Harsins "cultcha" as well. Some of you seem to be seeing what its like to try and coach when placed in a totally dysfunctional position.

Now you see why all the issues.....and it AINT Harsin.

NIL requires an independent organization. Negotiating approximately 100 contracts annually. A separate division to manage the inflow of cash, the budgeting, and then the notification to the coaching staff on the available funds so they can earmark by position what can be offered.

Fellas, long gone are the days of the players meeting their booster at sewell after the game for a little congrats "handshake".

Long before the law was official we should have reached out to an org like Jimmy Sexton and hired someone to set ours up because it will be a mirror reflection of theirs.

you're right. SOmeone with a lot more vision and understanding of NIL needed to get Auburn's going.

From what I was told it was dumped in a lawyers' lap and said run with it, and even HE said he had no clue what to do from the beginning. I believe it was the lawyer DAvison or Davidson? Son of Buddy's I believe.

So O don't blame him, and I do also believe a lot of colleges were in the same boat, but those that recovered faster or figured it out are moving faster.

That's what Friends of Auburn took it over, right?

And now we keep hearing Rich McG slowed it down...SO that's 2 strikes against us getting up to speed (If there is any truth to this too)

But how can u blame Harsin for that? He and coaches were to stay away from it?

This isn't harsins fault. This is again big money people likely in fighting.

These Auburn nil folks expect people to contribute when they can't even get this running?

so they had a year and change to "get it together" and are still scrambling to compete in recruiting. What a cluster fk

I bet you couldn’t wait to tell someone this today.

If we can get Jabari Smith to Auburn we can afford some 4* qb that’s worth a damn. Harsin is the issue. Nobody wants to invest around him. He’s a bum.

So can someone explain why every other sport at Auburn seems to be recruiting just fine?

We are just looking for excuses at this point. If Harsin was the man he would figure out a way, period. The worst part of it (besides us losing and not recruiting good enough) is all the outs and excuses this gives Harsin.. Him and his boring Boise buddies (and Friend and Bumbaugh too) are to blame because they aren't good enough. You think they are the first coaches that have had to deal with off the field stuff at Auburn? Yet they are handling it the worst.

Jang a little early into the bottle today I see

I dont know anything about Harsin other than the childish articles that have been written about him not being our "cultcha" nonsense. If that means he is a clean cut guy with a good looking family and moral character, then perhaps he is the wrong man for what Auburn seems to have become.

If he had NIL money from the get go, none of this would have been an issue. And that is a fact. We are blaming the symptom and not addressing the real problem.

I do still luv ya Jang....

NIL is becoming an extra layer of protection from blame for coaches that’s going to be annoying to argue about. If Gus was recruiting like this he’d be skewered for it. Rightfully so. IMO, only fair that Harsin takes blame too. I gave him last class because of the Covid dead period circumstances.

Ultimately, as a fan, it doesn’t matter to me what the issue or excuse is. I want great players at Auburn and I want to win football games. Harsin’s fault or not, that’s what I expect. I’m more patient than most here but ultimately the excuses stop mattering when the losses pile up. We’ll see what happens with this class and with the upcoming season but something’s gotta give

He had a losing record last year and has 2 commitments heading into July. Resembling an Auburn football coach isn’t good enough.
