Championship level teams can easily be fielded with top 5 classes. A&M is a sleeping giant once an actual coach utilizes that talent

It’s not much different than saying Barry Bonds, Mark McGwire, and Sama Sosa, are the greatest home run hitters of all time. Yes they did it, BUT!!

Well said!!! This is the point I’m trying to get across, you did it a lot better than me.

So why isn’t A&M having Nick Saban success? They’re paying players.

IDK but it might have to do with a toxic locker-room culture due to not looking for fits, Jimbo having an archaic offense and him having which might be one of the worst, if not the worst CFB contracts in history

Looks like McCall isn't going to FL. They just got a commit from Whisky transfer.

Also expect for Sam Hartman to enter the portal post his bowl game. Could be wrong on that but if we get in on him...sky is the limit next year...

Nobody is saying, or at least very few, that Saban isn’t a good coach. But it would be easier to judge how good he is if he was forced to play on a level playing field. NIL will help, prob why A&M finished #1 last year, and why Saban bitched so much about it. But they, and uga, have such a leg up it will take some time.

Side note, Saban benefited greatly this year by a super Alabama class combined with Harsin’s lack of, well, everything. Can’t fault him for that.

Geez I just read through 4 pages of dribble about Saban. Who cares. We have enough to correct at Auburn. And we have the coach and money people onboard now.

It was a great day.

Does DeVey college have a team? I’m starting to think that’s where McCall ends up

If he could get us a top transfer QB and HS QB the we would be on track. Also if the DC can deliver.

I am about to state some Auburn sacrilege but if Saban was such a great coach x's and o's gameday coach we would not of won the Camback game. There would of been the Chris Davis return at Auburn.

He wouldn't have lost to LSU or let A&M even come close to them. If he was a great coach and has more talent than anyone then he would blow everyone out. His coaching is what holds them back. He shouldn't have lost a game since his 3rd or 4th #1 class. He's taking 5* players and getting credit for the ones that the NFL drafts on ability. You get enough 5*s and enough will make plays and make it to the NFL. It's why they are 5*s before they get to college.

Saban is a good (not great) coach and great recruiter and even better cheater. His time at LSU shows his true coaching ability. He won a NC when the stars aligned like all the other 1 time NC coaches. The rest he was getting beat by teams that a great coach would have won.

But this is Auburn's recruiting thread. We will get our share when Freeze has a chance to show recruits what he can do with talent on the field and he will have 5*s wanting to transfer here.

But it was his processes and the way he talks on a recruiting visit. Then he has tons of highly drafted kids.

Smart learned it and was able to duplicate it. Time will tell if he can copy Saban. Did it help to have the money and the Alabama name, yes.

Others had the same apparatus at their fingertips at Bama and couldn’t duplicate saban’s success. It just is what it is. Acknowledge it and move on. The dude is the goat and it sucks as an Auburn fan but recognizing elite coaching is not a weakness. Lol

No dumber than just taking the good and ignoring the reason for the losses or ignoring how someone that is so great loses to or scrapes by teams he has loads more talent than and blames everything but his coaching ability.
