That was my gut feeling. The #sauces never confirmed that. The #sauces remains undefeated.

Would be nice if they are worth it but Bama unfortunately does pretty well with their blue chip players. And they got a fricking load of them again

Their secondary was loaded with 5* this season and got burned on the regular.

You can count on some of them transferring. It's near impossible to keep that many 5 stars content. That's the one saving grace with the transfer portal.

A good example is them losing the 5 star linebacker Drew Sanders to Arkansas. He's expected to be a 1st round draft pick.

I think the boosters see the saban era coming to a close and are going on one last major spending spree trying to buy another championship.

Thankfully the transfer portal dilutes some of their talent when some of those blue chippers get tired of sitting the bench their freshman and sophomore seasons.

They are going to sign all of the 5*s they can, keep the good ones, give them fat NIL deals and tons of playing time. Let the lesser ones who arent panning out as well walk. Sure, a few of their best might transfer, but its not like they wont have someone pretty close in talent level to step in.

44-45 total is what the recruiting guys say.

That is half of our allotted 85.

jesh...

Jones can you give the board a flush? The turds are overflowing trying to $hit all over the great day we had.

Yeah it's not where it needs to be but it's a major improvement and I think it's only going to get better.

The NCAA announced May 18 that a rule limiting Division I teams to 25 recruits per signing class will be suspended for the next two academic years. Teams, however, will still be capped at 85 scholarship players at Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) schools and 63 at Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) schools.

Thats exactly what I meant. If we take 40 this cycle, that is about half of the 85 we are allowed.

2011 was that way. We lost 43 players off the 2010 team before 2011's first game

Lost a lot of guys last year to the portal and didn’t replace them. Also guys in the portal this year and guys graduating. It seems like a lot until you see how many spots are available to get back to 85.

It also helps replace the loss of the players who take advantage of the covid exemption Im sure.

I get that they did it but when our guys start to practice, it will be like a brand new team

Which is good for us.

Very true.

It's says the NCAA is doing this for two years. I wonder if they will lengthen it? This portal business is just going to get worse, IMO. Mo money Mo problems.

We can sign up to 85 limit rather than the normal 25 per year, rule the NCAA put in place til they figure out covid year, NIL etc.

Freeze made it clear he wants the portal guys enrolled for spring and the final day for enrollment is 19th of January.

He said they still have to fill out the OL and DL and they have targets. Some LB help. They already have spoken to QBs and will take one if its the right one. And they have some other needs to fill.

Lanier they feel confident the Miss State running back transfer is a done deal so we will have 5 RBs when you include Sean Jackson.

Interesting note, he must have read this site because he took some time to talk about Hank Brown the QB. He said he will not sign a QB unless he sees them perform in person, and he had seen this kid make every type of throw a QB can make and he did them well.

Saban is an overrated coach, X’s and O’s type of guy, he’s just a great recruiter. If he were a great “coach” he would have done a lot better in the NFL but he couldn’t have 32 1st round picks annually so he was exposed. frick that midget Joe Peterno 2.0.

We’re basically going through what LSU did a year ago, a whole new team. Hopefully with the same first year results, minus getting beat in the SECC.
