Made 4* DL Dashawn Womack’s top 10

Auburn: "They just offered so I am interested. They are low on d-linemen and I feel as though I would have a pretty good chance of being able to be in the rotation and play early, play in my freshman year."

5* CB Tony Mitchell
5* CB Jahlil Hurley
4* WR Karmello English
4* RB Jeremiah Cobb
All in Auburn today. 4* DL Jordan Hall was in town yesterday
KN says Auburn expects to have elite groups of guys on campus most weekends leading up to June when they’ll start hosting official visitors.

Cobb’s grown a ton over the past year and is filling out as well. He’s without a doubt over 6’0” and pushing 200lbs, if not there already. He’s also a really quiet kid with a great head on his shoulders- doesn’t run his mouth and would rather attention be directed elsewhere when possible.
On the field, he’s got all the tools you’d look for in an SEC back, but his ability to break tackles really stands out. Cobb runs bigger than you’d think in traffic and faster than you’d think once he gets to the 2nd level.
His recruiting started slowly because he ran behind a very talented upper classman until recently, but his offers have exploded almost simultaneously with his size.
Outside of film, I can’t compare him to other backs in his class or past Auburn RBs but I can say that he’s bigger than listed, genuinely has the right mindset to be successful at the next level, and is as talented an athlete as anyone currently on the roster.

I really appreciate this Post, chimes. Not sure if you caught it but I posted a little while back that it was obvious he’s gotten a lot bigger lately from old measurements posted.
My only concern left was the level of competition and whether or not to believe the highlights in respect to the talent around him. Any thoughts there? Speed is unquestioned, IMO. With guys at smaller schools/regions, the eye test is really whether or not it’s obvious they’re the best player on the field and I think that’s also plainly obvious with Cobb. He jumps off the screen

Jones, just a quick post as a thanks for the work you’ve done in this thread. It is greatly appreciated.

Completely understand where you’re coming from regarding competition level. Obviously he can only run against the teams put in front of him (3A), but he definitely still jumps out against bigger, more physical defenses. He’s got multiple SEC/Power 5 guys in his own locker room and he’s still the benchmark for freak athleticism.
When Auburn recruited/signed a TE out of the same area a few years back that I was very familiar with, I honestly never understood it. He was literally the exact opposite: he stood out on the field due to his size, had somewhat above average pass catching ability, but his blocking and overall physical presence were non existent…the epitome of a “looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane”. I was 100% honest when asked about him and was upfront with my skepticism. Cobb ain’t that… he’s an alpha among alphas and comes from one of the most genetically gifted families I’ve ever seen (that’s saying something). I’m a diehard Auburn fan and have been accused of being overly cynical on boards for over a decade now, and I’d be ECSTATIC to have this guy added to our RB stable.

I’m sold on him. IMO, I’d still want a big back along with him in this class. Not necessarily because of Cobb alone but our RB room is on the leaner side right now, aside from the wrecking ball that is Sean Jackson
Ingram 6’1 209
Hunter 5’11 202
Jackson 5’9 230
Alston 5’10 205

I like Cobb a heck of a lot.
Even in his jr season clips he runs w authority and knows what he wants to do w his cutS and speed.
He looks effortless when he kicks iT in high gear. A few more lbs of strength and he can be THE TB. If he has good hands, lights out on his production.

Jalil Hurley tweeted that he’s not doing anymore interviews.
Haven’t kept up with recruiting at all since signing day. Comments on it seem to think he’s decommitting

Hard to say on grades this early. Still has this semester and all next year to turn it around. Auburn only stopped pursuing Woody in ‘22 after seeing his fall ‘21 grades.
Bama 247 mods don’t seem impressed with the grades stuff but they do seem to think he might be ready to not be committed anymore. I don’t think the Bama staff was happy with his unannounced Auburn trip.

Made 4* TE Jackson Bowers top 7.
Auburn: "A great college town with a great environment and culture. They use the tight end a lot and coach Brad Bedell does a great job with them."
He visited earlier this month.

Dukes @247 said this a few weeks ago:
quote:
Five-star cornerback Jahlil Hurley from Florence, Ala., has been committed to Alabama since February but that doesn’t mean teams have stopped recruiting him. Auburn is one of those programs and those efforts are being led by secondary coach Zac Etheridge. Hurley also has been consistently recruited by Georgia and Florida as well, and my sources tell me that if he ever were to waver on his commitment that Auburn would be squarely in the mix. I continue to hear that this recruitment is far from done.
