It's like the recruits see Harsin's work ethic and are buying in to that.

Ehhh I would put our game day experience going viral amongst recruits, NIL, and great recruiting from certain position coaches ahead of "recruits liking Harsin's work ethic."

I'm sure his messaging doesn't hurt, though.

Put me in the group of pleasantly surprised with the close of the ESD, over all about what I expected but we needed greater then expected this year. A lot of teams are still in holding mode to see who transfers, who transfers in, and February signing day. I don’t think we can call this class successful at all without at least 2-3 experienced transfers for the OL. Whether they be good/great players or not you at least have to attempt to upgrade.

Except it’s exactly what he’s doing. My goodness man.

You hate it but he doesn’t give a shite what you or I think. So have at it.

Oh, by the way, I never said we didn’t miss on any, pointing out he also passed on some. I already said the staff needs to build inroads and relationships to land the ones they really want.

My point is they are not going to fill the spot with more shite so you and I can complain how shitty the OL Harsin is bringing in.

Other then everything you come here and say is exactly what is said on the show. That’s all. I like the War Rapport dudes. It’s a good fan show. Do they know shite? Nope. But it’s a good fan show.

Didn't WR get Harsin on their show? I don't recall Harsin going on many podcast shows, if any.

So that is a plus for them, I guess. And yes, They have no connections I feel to recruiting insiders...

No it's not, that's completely degrading me to have no opinion of my own. Not every fricking thing I say aligns with what they say. Really go somewhere else with that bullshite...all you ever do is troll with your shite--and target me. I linked myself one time with that show and all you think is that I'm some massive fan boi that takes everything from them as holy gospel.

All you ever do is provide no substance to the conversation. Oh and you won't admit when they get something right when all you do is watch 5 minutes of their show then generalize everything incorrectly.

I think I'm just tired of folks turning anything positive that happens into a negative--or trolls. Saying things like we should be disappointed in our class when it's not even over with with room to grow; yet, we're already at the point we would expect to be at before signing is over with.

Slow down Mike G. It's a joke. but yes almost everything you bring aligns directly with them but that's ok. Like I said I like the show and the fellas. Look you got more upvotes I got more downvotes. You won. It'll be ok we can all have different opinions.

And who's to say it wasn't exactly what Gus was doing as well with his standard for OL but we bitched everyday about that as well. Remember all the bitching about "Gus having to approve" before players could commit. Is it any different now? Either we have a standard we hold our coaches to or we don't.

I don't give a crap if it's first year or 10th year I'm not satisfied finishing in the middle of the SEC in recruiting. Give me top 4/5 or above each year and hopefully when experience in the right areas along with a favorable schedule we can compete for a championship. Once every 3-4 years. That should be the floor for our expectations. College football is on the move and if you don't get out in front you are surely to be left behind.

Ok I'm done talking about this shite so keep building in excuses and we will keep going 6-6.

We know it will take a few years to get OL back in order, if we can pick up another one or two high school kids in the spring for the future, we still have big big needs for this coming fall.

Pick up a few in the portal. What else do we have.

Zierer has a year left and Jones 2. We also have a few underclassmen that could fill the inside. Coffey comes back for covid year? Pick up this Jones kid from Calera that is in the portal as a DL and move Wright back to the OL. Talk to Frazier, he will be a junior next year, and still have 6 TEs, put on a few pounds and move to OT. Hope Smith develops, will be his 2nd year.

Better have some good OL coaching this fall, perhaps Bedell takes that assignment. We will have the bodies, and some potential, just need to mesh them.

Jayson Jones the DT from Oregon that is telling people he wants to play for Auburn.

Interesting coming out of high school ESPN ranked him as the number one OFFENSIVE tackle in the state, higher than they had him ranked on defense. Hmmm the plot thickens....

If I ban excuses here do we go 12-0 instead?

I didn’t realize that my anonymous message board thread had so much power

The funny part of this thread today, to me, is that myself and others that have posted about recruiting here since Gus was hired defended his recruiting and provided excuses along the way about specific classes or recruits. It’s just kinda what we do as fans. We read the articles and form opinions of our own and share them.

In comes a new poster that wasn’t around here all these years and suddenly providing the same opinions or excuses on the new coach is spin or unacceptable because he doesn’t like that new coach. When in fact it isn’t even novel We’ve been trying to figure out the intentions on recruiting of these staffs for a decade now.

Today is another example that the more things change, the more they stay the same. Looking forward to another decade of rustling jimmies in here

FWIW - Gus averaged #11. We're close. Guess we'll see come February. Regardless of whether we climb higher or not, I'm optimistic about Harsin.

I must have missed that part. And no clue if excuses has anything to do with recruiting and wins and loses but I think it should be a part of incentive just like I think most college coaches contracts should be production based. Get away from the 10 million a year assured to 2 million or so assured with other millions to be made by production
