As always, I’m most concerned about the OL and DL.

But… Based on what I heard on the podcast I recently mentioned…

It seems Auburn is hitting the transfer portal and hitting it hard. They feel it’ll be more important, for now, that we spread scholarships out amongst players that are ready to play now. They (the staff) feel as if it would put Auburn way behind the 8 ball if they sign a bunch of OL recruits out of HS, requiring development before being game ready.

How are the OL in the portal? Much quality talent there?

A mixed bag of P5 transfers that mostly weren’t playing and G5 transfers that were tops in their league. Auburn is supposedly talking to a few of them

Even better. P5 OL good players that were buried on the bench or busts?

Eason has been touted for his work on the trail but it’s trending that the results won’t be there in this class. His 2023 class has a chance to be strong… make or break class.

I get that, but every other team is looking to upgrade lines, too. Glad I am not tasked with our OL.

It’s risky. We have a few positions, especially OL, where there’s not much room for error.

It’s not going to take much to be better than what we’ve had the past several years.

That’s what I keep telling myself. It’s gonna take a class or two to sell the OLs, get some quality portal guys as stop-gaps and it has to get better in long run - can’t get worse.

If Perry picks Bama after naming us his leader like a week ago.. He can go on the Javion Cohen and Rueben Foster list. I will root against him every chance I get lol.

Auburn is trying to get him to realize he can likely be elite at both

So we would want him to play both ways? Or just that he can also be elite where we want him to be (on OL)?

He wouldn’t play both ways. I think the idea is that the staff can help him meet his goals no matter which line he plays on.

Sometimes if a recruit is split on a position you’ll gain an advantage by keeping both doors open for them. That also doesn’t work sometimes. Just gotta know the recruit and the situation
