Agree on the 4 year part. But they’ve got a handful of studs there that I want signed. I don’t want Saban, Smart, Cristobal, etc., knocking on their door in January
They only had like 12 commits anyway.

I like the move though. It gives the kids an opportunity to reevaluate their decision and UF isn't tied to a kid for 4 years they won't use
It's extremely risky. They may end up with a tiny class, or a class of shitty players since so many kids sign in December now. That can set a program back a few years, especially during what appears to be a complete rebuild based on what Napier wants to do.

More clarity on Agbo.
Despite him telling 247 that coaches would visit (after saying he hasn’t heard from them), he told KN today that they won’t visit.
KN believes they’ve moved in another direction.

How many kids from last years class do we really expect to contribute? How many of those are eating a scholarship?

Tyre West apparently cancelled his OV (was supposed to be today). Looks like he's going to FSU. He's supposed to visit Tennessee this weekend so I'm interested to see if Garner can make that happen.

We only had 18 in the class. 2 already transferred.
So it was pretty small. But at the same time, most of those 18 signed before Harsin was hired so he didn’t really get the opportunity that Napier has. Additionally, every class has non contributors so I’m not sure this is a valuable endeavor
But I like the question anyway. Harsin didn’t play a lot of freshman.
The lower rated guys of that 16 are Armani Diamond and Cayden Bridges. Will they contribute? Possibly. Seems like DBs always find the field eventually.
Ro Torrence and Jarquez Hunter played. Joko Willis played but mostly special teams. Landen King played. Dawson played.
As far as I know, 4* DT Lee Hunter, 4* DE Dylan Brooks, 4* S Ahmari Harvey, 4* DT Marquis Robinson, 4* QB Dee Davis, and 3* DE Tobechi Okoli did not play. Guessing Davis and Okoli have the toughest path to contribute. Garner Langlo, the 3* OT, probably has a shot due to depth.
Most of the class were transfers. Harsin picked those so I’m not sure it’s worth getting into which of those guys didnt play but Dreshun Miller and Jordon Ingram we’re noticeably absent

Seems KN was given bad info then because yesterday he posted that he was optimistic about West to auburn

He also quickly deleted that thread. Like, within an hour. He almost never does that. The board actually assumed it was good news that he deleted it because the last times he’s done that it’s been because they’ve asked them to keep things quiet

Knew it was too good to be true.

I assumed that things picking up with 3* DT Enyce Sledge meant that West was looking unlikely.
West is another one of those weird recruitments. Always a couple each cycle

Darrius Clemons will use his last OV to Michigan this weekend. Harsin visits him today. This was reported as a possibility previously
With PSU eliminated from his top 3 and Oregon not having a coach, Clemons will look at another possible option along side Auburn.
Not sure it changes much. I think Auburn is the favorite but it’s something to now watch

The point is that with early signing day taking the bulk of kids off the market, they could realistically wind up with a class of like 12-15 kids, and many of them big projects. That can put you in a big hole trying to rebuild. I'm sure they'll hit the portal hard and have a full class next year, but those kind of classes can be big hit to depth down the road.
I've read that he's basically told all of their current commits to hold off and not sign early. I just think that is very risky.

Do whatever we have to do to get him.. He's a guy you make room for.

quote:Robinson I think had 1 tackle for the year. He got into 1 game I think. Okoli played in a game, but didn't record any stats.

His prerogative. All I’m saying is that there were about 6-7 guys I would’ve sent signing papers to if I were in charge. But I’m sure he has a plan in place.
