Forgot about Ashford. Haven’t heard much about him either. Would love to have his running ability but my guess is his passing is inconsistent.

So he’s basically Calzada and Finley except a dynamic runner. #wewantAshford

It is clear Harsin wants his QBs to be 6'4" plus with big arms.

Crazy since the best QB he had at Boise was neither of those things.

Or worse than Calzada and Finley passing.

Unfortunately it only takes half a season for TJ get 4 losses. Unlike Bo who at least took the whole year.

Drama.

Was lacking drama and recruits and a good quarterback controversy.

Ain’t no controversy!

Calzone to the End Zone!

3500+ yards, 41 TDs, 3 INTs.

9 rush TDs.

Can’t believe I haven’t seen mention of the freshman DB who is making noise in camp right now. Couple of podcasts I heard talked about him a ton.

I think it was JD Rhym. Exciting

I hope you don’t base all your decisions or judgments on just a few minutes of one day?

I’m guessing the coaches are looking at his play in totality. If he was as good or better than Finley, we would be talking about Ashford a lot more. I mean he’s not even getting a mention in the reports I’ve seen posted here.

You probably are always supporting the QB never getting the chance but you know he is better than the ones that are

Calzada is probably guaranteed to start here. Finley more than likely the backup.

That’s all we have to go on, unless you’re going to practice every day. But yet you can sit there and say the opposite with confidence?

Hokanson from yesterday on the QB competition:

I don’t believe anyone has made “noise” quite yet. I have heard that none of them have done all that much to standout after a few days.

I watched some video clips on YouTube last night from practices. My take on the little I saw:

Tank looks much faster. Tank, Cowboy, and Sean are ready.

M’ba…massive dude. Can’t wait to see him.

Saw a lot of hurry up offense. Were they practicing the 2 minute drill, or are we getting back to going fast?

Didn’t see hardly any drops from the WRs in drills. Shank and the other TEs didn’t drop much either.

QBs all had some bad throws. I didn’t see Ashford out there.

I think the first scrimmage is going to be the biggest determining factor. If any of them separate there, I think the race will be decided soon. If not, it will be a long camp of no decisions.

It won't hurt my feelings if we get to see multiple QBs in-game for the first 3-4 games.

Ashford was the offensive player of the day on Sunday, FWIW

There we go, first I've heard of him this camp and his skill set intrigues me.

To be honest I was hoping Ashford could bring some Nick Marshall type production to our program. I wish nick could come back and play.
