That is awesome news. Don’t want to get my hopes up but a signing day steal from Jones would be absolutely gigantic.

Brenden Coffey. Any news on his grades, when he might enroll if he makes it? He is up to 300lbs now?
Thanks fellas.
Thanks fellas.

I think you are confusing Buskey and Coffey. Buskey was the ones with grade risks IIRC.

Ah thanks, my bad.
So of the three JC tackles, Zierer is rehabbing a knee and may practice in fall, Buskey has grade issues, and Coffey will he enroll in summer or is he also fall?
Jones should be salivating at this point...

Article from Al.com on our class of 2021 5* DT commit, Lee Hunter, and his friend heading to rivaling schools after HS:
quote:
Mobile Christian’s Deontae Lawson and Blount’s Lee Hunter grew up together.
The two defensive stars are now top recruits in the state of Alabama’s 2021 recruiting class.
In two years, the friends will be on opposite sides of the Iron Bowl rivalry.
Hunter, a 6-foot-5, 292-pound defensive tackle, committed to Auburn on Dec. 3. Lawson, a 6-foot-3, 214-pound linebacker, committed to Alabama last week. They both had offers from across the nation.
“In a few more years, I’ll be beating Deontae,” Hunter joked on WNSP-FM 105.5 in Mobile last week. “He will wish he came to Auburn.”
“He knows that is not true,” Lawson replied.
Both players were first-team All-State and All-Coastal Alabama picks this past season and both are among the top 10 junior recruits in the state. Hunter is currently No. 3 according to the 247 composite rankings, while Lawson is No. 8.
“We are really close,” Lawson said of his relationship with Hunter. “We played basketball and football together when we were little. We always talked about where we were going to go to college kind of as a joke. Now it’s real.”
Both have been heavily recruited throughout their high school careers. Lawson received his first offer as a freshman. Hunter received his first offer early in his sophomore year. Ironically, both came from Tennessee.
Lawson, who led Mobile Christian to the Class 3A state title game in 2019 and is a finalist for Lineman of the Year in that class, committed to the Crimson Tide two days after Christmas.
“I just felt like it was the best move for me at the right time,” he said. “I wanted to be a part of a special program. Coach (Nick) Saban is a great coach. He made sure I was comfortable with my decision. He’s a great man. That connection has been unreal.”
Hunter grew up an Auburn fan and said any other decision for him would not have felt right.
“It’s always been on my heart that if I don’t go to Auburn, it will be a mistake,” he said. “When my heart tells me to do something, it means to do it. People always ask, ‘Why didn’t you chose Alabama or all these other schools’, but if your heart tells you to do something you are just going to do it.”
Both players said they would take other visits throughout the spring and summer and into next fall, though both seem firmly committed to their schools as well. They also both still talk to other colleges.
“I have a different school text me every day,” Hunter said. “They are still trying. I try to reply to all of them because, at the end of the day, you never know when you are in college who might become your coach. I always respect them and reply to them.”
Neither player is ready to get to college just yet. Lawson is hoping to help Mobile Christian over the state championship hurdle next year. Hunter is hoping he and an all-star group of seniors can make a deep run at Blount. He also is not ready to leave home just yet.
“Who’s ready to be grown?” he joked. “I always tell my momma that I wish I could go back to the fifth grade sometimes.”
Still, the two friends also enjoy joking about what is coming next.
“After the (Iron Bowl) game, he’ll be in tears because I beat him,” Hunter said of Lawson.

It does sound like he’s prepared to be at Auburn regardless of who is coaching.

KN won’t be surprised if Vandagriff visits soon. Morris visited his school after he was hired and KN expects Auburn to be a factor

I think it was yesterday that KN posted another update on Broderick Jones.. There wasn't much new info in it, but he talked about his source a bit and I'm 99% sure I know who it is (Not personally). Imo its the most connected guy in GA right now and if he's saying Auburn could be leading 60-40 for Jones then that's all I need to hear. The source is one of the main reasons we were able to get Pappoe.

If we get Jones, that would move this to an elite class. Tank and those DBs have me excited.

I don't think they want the name getting out.. My post was deleted in the thread when I hinted at who it might be lol. I'm sure you can guess though, E. It's not hard to figure out. He has a son playing in the Big 12.
