Zierer expected to recover by Fall camp. Hopefully that sticks & he has a big camp.

Grimes needs to go, but guessing the distance factor for Flax - UK 5hrs, AU 12hrs.

Still ridiculous we can’t sign a top rated tackle. UGA might be getting Ratledge and Jones. 2021 they have the #3 OT committed and #7 OT Michael Morris CB’d.

the other piece is we are really late on Flax. The thing I wonder is why? We probably knew Buskey had grades, and we knew Cohen was iffy at best for a few weeks. Why not overload there or at least get another guy warm?

Can't evaluate... we didn't try to get in bed with him until he was named the #1 juco OT

Nobody knew about Flax til his highlights came out in late October. This was his 1st juco football season & he generated no interest out of high school.

While I dont disagree, we shouldve been in on someone else, then. I guess my point is I am not surprised if we lose Flax because Kentucky recruited him the whole time, and we were a late offer.
If we need another OT, I have no idea why our net is cast so narrowly so late. We shouldve been warming other bodies if possible

Kentucky offered less than a month before Auburn did. So that’s not really the issue here.

Getting in early on guys isn’t necessarily helpful. See: Kennedy, Q Robinson, Boykin, Pickens, Cohen, etc.

If anything, getting in early on guys in recent years has been harmful if that’s the only factor we’re looking at

Closer to 6 weeks per his 247 timeline. October 23rd to December 2nd...Not that it changes your point.

Does Flax not coming help with the possible Jones flip? Jones could start day 1 now I would think.

Possibly. I want to get him as option 1 but if we miss on him one would think AU would be a top choice of GT OTs after the bowl season.

Good thing for us Garner & T-Will are running that recruitment. Not sure we'd have much of a chance if Grimes was.
The biggest benefit to the early signing period for us imo. Those two, for the most part, will always have their positions locked in by now so after ESD they are free to pursue any remaining targets.

It def makes him a bigger priority, but if he's ok with going to UGA with their OL depth I doubt if Flax came it would have mattered to him. And to be honest, if we couldn't get Flax from UK getting Jones from UGA is going to take a minor miracle.

Darnell Washington is not signing tomorrow, so the dominos may not be falling yet. I think Bama made a push on Pegues since it appeared they may lose out on DW. Now that he's not signing, I wonder if that could secure Pegues with us tomorrow,

Past seven cycles.. Auburn 19 Offensive Linemen.

Alabama 32, Georgia 28, LSU 26...

Had to make it up with transfers... (4 who all started and played)Golson, James, Dunn, Driscoll...

Yes, but makes us that much more vunerable to striking out when we cannot afford to.
