Seems like UGA fans are feeling more confident on Brod... anything happening there?

He did an interview yesterday breaking down his recruitment. Said he hit it off with Matt Luke when they 1st met & looking forward to getting to know him better. Also said his best coach relationship of any team recruiting him is still Porter from AU. Also said his AU OV will be a huge factor in his decision adding this interesting quote.

It may mean nothing but I find it interesting he's interviewed with Keith quite a bit more often than UGA writers lately.

And was just named the #1 juco prospect in the nation by Rivals.

Amazing that Butler has only played 2 years of football, 1 in HS and 1 in JC.

Very Raw, but totally fits the bill for his size and weight. If he has the mental toughness, Garner will do wonders with him.

He looks like he can contribute fairly quickly, if he has those natural DE skills.

Evan McGuire committed

As a preferred walk-on. He’s turning down scholarship offers to commit.

He’s probably the least talented kicker we’ve had coming out of HS. That’s the downside

quote:

KOHL'S COMMENTS

McGuire recently attended the Kohl's Southern Showcase in May of 2019 and the National Scholarship Camp in July. He showed next level leg strength with multiple 70+ yard kick off's and huge FG's. His 6'5 frame allows him to get great lift on his FG's. He is a very talented prospect with a bright future ahead of him. McGuire moved into the D1 scholarship catagory this spring and is hitting his stride at just the right time. He made an impressive 15-15 in the charting session in Atlanta. McGuire could also develop into a big-time punter in the coming years.

Chris Sailer Kicking

Evan is a big time high school kicking prospect. He is big, tall, strong and athletic. The lefty does a a fantastic job on field goal. He gets the ball up quick off the ground and easily has 55+ yard range. His kickoffs are outstanding, D1 ready right now. Evan averages 65+ yards with 4.0+ hang time. He also has the size, strength and athleticism to develop into a great punter. He shows that he can hit a D1 level ball at times. Evan is a competitor that kicks with great confidence. With continued hard work, he will be a special college player. I look forward to seeing what the future holds. Evan has all the tools to be one of the very best. Look for him to dominate this 2019 season. Strong combo prospect. OFFER NOW!!!

Nothing about him or his show suggests he is a "bammer."

True. It's pure speculation on my part.

I do know he categorically denied being an Auburn fan on a show this year and implied he was a fan of a rival school.

In any event, hes pretty fair. Keeps a professional tone most all the time. But the only time he betrays any emotion is occasionally when hes tweeting about bama, imho, who I feel like he tweets about more than you would expect.

But still just a guess.

I think I’d rather have 3 years of Butler than 4 of McKinnley

Are we projecting Butler to be a DT?

It may depend on our needs. He could be asked to move around as a DE/DT some.

He is already heavier than Marlon Davidson, who bounced back and forth from DE to some DT, depending on Steele's schemes.

If he gains weight he may have to go inside.

Actually originally heard Buck but my gues is he stays at strongside end. If we sign him that will be 4 guys in the class who may be able to play DT or SDE. Garner loves him some versatile players.

Looks most like a SDE but he’s extremely disruptive. I’d like to see him next to Truesdell assuming his weight is good weight

So if Handy, Big Cat, and Caleb Johnson get work at the SDE, and perhaps one of these new guys. That leaves on the inside Truesdell and three others (assuming we rotate as usual). Those would be Newkirk and Coynis Miller and?

I hope we add Burks, and hope a couple of these new fellas can contribute early and often.

Like Jones said Butler is likely a DE. Walker likely is too. Haven't heard anything about him as a DT. Hardy is projected to move inside & DFA may as well. Burks appears all AU & will be a DT.
