That’s funny. Just last week he was telling another p line commit to stay at UGA. Guess his loyalties have changed.

I made a comment a few posts back about a random encounter that provided some intel on Brod Jones. Basically, a close friend ran into Matt Luke at a restaurant and ended up eating with him. Luke basically conceded Jones may likely decommit under the guise that “Jones isn’t ‘my’ type of lineman, he’s what Pittman wanted” and insinuated he had guys higher on his board. I took it as Jones was a likely gonna flip. Maybe that’s why Pittman doesn’t feel bad going after him.

Fortunately KN says long shot at best that he goes to Arky.

Hopefully rhyme’s source is true.

When it comes to Auburn football...it's time to burn something down. Good is the enemy of great!!! Don't get cold feet now.

Bryan Matthews is hearing that Troy punter/ kicker Tyler Sumter which recently announced his intentions to grad transfer is likely headed to Auburn.

1 yr of eligibility. From Spain Park.

All conference punter/ kicker

Averaged 41.8 yards a punt and made 14/18 FGs last year.

I dont see how we get Brod Jones without a good oline hire. Cant believe coaches had no idea Grimes was retiring or had planned to replace him. We look hapless

If Grimes knew he was retiring in a couple years, I have to imagine that played a role in how poorly we've recruited there recently.

I've seen nothing that would suggest any slack intentions from Grimes just his inability to attract recruits.

Never met him but he's always came across as a straight arrow hard working SOB and not much of slacker. The hard arse granddad that kids didn't care to visit.

Past experience tells me Farrell knows little to nothing about specific situations. He gets his info from local guys and puts it out as his own. Farrell is a ratings guy not a specific local player guy.

Malachi Wideman doesn’t plan to OV Auburn. We can put that recruitment to bed.
His visits will be:
Tennessee
Oregon
FAU

Per 247

Bro Jones may or may not stick with UGA but as usual Farrell don’t know shite. Pro auburn recruiting reporters Grimes leaving has little to no factor on where Jones goes.

I wouldn't think it would come from Grimes. It has been pretty well known he'd be retiring sooner than later. If you think other teams haven't been using that against us, you'd be fooling yourself.

He clearly isn't a great recruiter, we all know this, but i'm sure the knowledge of his impending retirement at some point hasn't helped either.

Totally. Based on what we have seen and heard w regards to OL recruiting and Grimes, it makes no sense to feel that any OL would not come b/c Grimes is leaving based on his resume and lack of recruiting he does.

that rumor just doesn't fit w/ Grimes.

Not really sure that's what we were talking about.

I'm thinking this was about the old man coasting into retirement. And not so much about the tactics of recruiting. Whether or not Grimes would intentionally leave the cupboard bare because he wouldn't be here.

To me he seemed the type who would want to leave as good a situation as he could. Instead of the other way around. But I don't know the guy?

This is strange to me and doesn't make sense. Why would we use a scholarship on a punter we would have for 1 year vs offering a scholarship to Evan McGuire and having him for 4 years.
