If you think Georgia, Alabama, LSU have only been recruiting at the very top for 2 years then you haven’t been paying attention.

They’ll process upperclassmen that aren’t going to see the field and keep loading up.

Jones, Jones, check the sarcasm, I was being facetious. My point was, they already have great lines AND they have stacked the last two years.

I broke it all down for everyone. The money angle. Maybe I should write for AU sports.

Back to recruiting, Putnam said stability was a priority. Not performance on the field. There’s reason why FSU was in it and we weren’t.

You’re a smart boy. Think it through.

Regardless of whether it was performance or stability that hurt us, Clemson has both, and it would’ve been highly illogical to pick us or FSU over Clemson.

Totally agree. But it doesn’t even sound like we were even in the hunt. So he delayed his decision a week to think through FSU or Clemson. FSU lost Jimbo, had a shite season, may not even have their OL coach come February yet by perception they’ve gotta feel more stable because FSU was considerably worse than Auburn this season. FSU was a rolling dumpster fire

FWIW, I don’t think that message board fans or reporters played a significant role. I just can’t say that the folks that signed with us yesterday were enticed by stability. And it seems clear that Putnam had other reasons to eliminate Auburn if it truly came down to FSU and Clemson.

We tried to manufacture recruiting stability with the contract and it didn’t stick. But yeah, our own deserves some blame. If you were a top hundred recruit would you go to a school where the coach is hated by at least 70% of its fanbase and is assumed to be gone w/in a calendar year.

FSU has offered Kamaar Bell now. Not sure what that means for us.

Major portions of the fan base want the head coach and OL coach fired. Pretty bleak outlook if you’re a well recruited offensive lineman

I said before that all the BS going around about the coaching staff and Gus is doing nothing but hurting recruiting

Tough choice - dumpster fire in Tallahassee or dumpster fire in Auburn

We’re literally the only fan base in America that could create coaching controversy with. $40 million buyout.

Yes he does, he was on the hot seat also.

ND fires coaches with winning record all the time, look at the record of the last 3

They just don’t accept mediocrity

He also does not run the same play after every first down. Or only throw screen passes against a rival. Or run the twirly bird full back pass. Or run the whirly bird on 3rd and long an entire season.

Bottom line, once agsin we fail to bring in the talented highly ranked Oline and RB recruits especislly the numbers needed. We are 6th in recruiting among SEC teams and our main rivals continue to recruit at an elite level. Defense talent is better because if our D coaches; Offense talant not at the same level. Thank goidness Nix is a legacy or we would have failed as usual to recruit a highly rated QB. Same as usual and we will have another season of mediocre football.

We brought in arguably one of the top backs, that was found by our coaches.

Just to clarify, Nix is the #2 DT QB in the country.

Got a guy that had offers from Miami, Michigan, UGA, Texas, and others.

Leading for Mark-Antony Richards.

The only thing we’ve fricked up so far the the OL, which is a considerable frick-up. Keep in mind this was jus the early signing day. There’s still a few months to go

Because were the only school that would give a mostly unproven coach a $40M buyout.

It's true though. I want Gus gone, but know/knew full well that it was very possible our recruiting suffered as a result. I'm actually really shocked we have had as much success as we have.
