Are there any recruits that are particularly close to Chip?

Pickens was close with Chip as he coached his brother in high school but Pickens is also close with Gus so not sure if that will provide a major blow or not

Can't imagine him leaving helps with Putnam

Horton, Grimes & Gus have been leading that recruitment I believe. Bigger issue there is that coaching noise apparently has his side concerned which has allowed CLEM to make a push or that's at least what KN seems to believe

Maybe Putnam will view it as a positive. With Chip being fired/pushed out, the chatter of Gus leaving should be put to rest.

He had the best OL in the country, and a stud at RB. Our D was probably the best in the country. With all of those advantages, we still lost 4 games.

You mean last season? You think an OL that gave up 11 sacks in one game was the best OL in the nation?

Wasn’t this the piece to the puzzle that Malzahn sold to Harbert(sp?) We all know that Gus doesn’t have the foresight past dinner, but what about the others?

I'm not sure I'd put much stock in Woody and has J Lee been right about anything lately?

Chip had very minimal involvement in Bryant recruitment. It's been mostly Gus per KN

AU might miss on him but Chip leaving will have very little to do with it

@PardonMyTake Per sources, former Clemson QB Kelly Bryant is expected to announce tomorrow that he is transferring to Arkansas, per sources, barring a last-second change of heart, according to sources familiar with his decision

FWIW keef says AU or Missouri

I guess Chad Morris recruited KB at Clemson and developed that offense for them. That makes sense.

If that means we can go and win the Khalil Tate sweepstakes then that’s fine by me. If that means we gotta ride Gus’s Boy Malik, that’s fine by me too. I want Gus to put his money where his mouth is. Show us he can do this or get fricked.

Our fanbase readily acknowledges we have no legit insiders, yet some still latch on to tidbits of “info” that they say

There’s two kinds of insiders that are worth diferrentiating, IMO.

1) recruiting. Guys like KN, Wolk, etc., actually talk to recruits and get legitimate information. If you’re going to put value into any information I’d put it in theirs.

2) program. These guys are closed off from anything and everything important and/or secretive. They listen to anyone and often to the wrong people. Marcelo has been blabbering for weeks about people being the loudest having the least amount of power, or something along those lines. He’s really saying that the people that he trusts don’t have any information either and that he’s a sucker for following them to the publish button.
