They weren't terrible at pass pro but the run blocking was atrocious.
The last quarter of the season I thought we were actually pretty good. Not great or anything, but miles better than earlier in the year.

Read several places that Bryant is down to AU and Mizzou...

KN says coaching instability rumors are hurting AU with Putnam. Clemson growing more confident. Gus will visit Putnam this week

Maybe I’m reading into things wrong, but people are saying recruiting isn’t going well now but we still haven’t had any decommits.
At the same time, we are at the end of tbe season, and the optimism for our remaining targets and for big OV weekends isn’t there.
Does it seem likely that we hold onto what we have now and just not get much else?

AU has to survive Pappoe OV to UT this weekend otherwise any flips probably not happening until late signing period
AU in position for a strong finish in DEC but it HAS to hit on Putnam and hold onto Pappoe. Do that and it's clear that recruiting is fine. Miss and people's belief recruiting is struggling will be very real

Hence my comment on landing KB. He does more for morale than what he brings to the field. Stidham was such a bad fit here.

I think someone else said it better.
He was a bad fit with this oline.
He was solid last year.
I do not keep up with the recruiting that much, but are we in the hunt for a really good center?

Setting up the excuse for when we miss on signing OL recruits yet again.

Now that Coach Double Bubble is staying why should we worry? And in that last video, it seemed pretty clear Pappoe was sticking with AU unless there is a coaching change.
Also how many worthless CB's for Pappoe to UT do you expect to come in after the visit? Ha!

How could he be a bad fit here, if last year he threw for over 3,000 yds, had an excellent td/int ratio, and won the SEC West, with him providing a steady offense at QB.
Why couldn't it just be that we had a weak and very inexperienced OL, w/ no true workhorse at RB (Boobie was too injury prone)...and it simply made us what we weren't which was a pass first offense...

He had the best OL in the country, and a stud at RB. Our D was probably the best in the country. With all of those advantages, we still lost 4 games. Look at Haskins at OSU. Even tho they weren't clicking all year, he did everything in his power to win. JS doesn't have those skills.

this is how our recruiting goes even after NC appearances. Always been a drag.

Totally on Gus. The attention seemed to make him more isolated than before. Which makes sense knowing he is an introvert. He should have rode the wave.

I wouldn't classify it as an excuse at all.
We had a lead for Putnam. Instability of our own creation (fans/admin/PTB of Auburn) has created uncertainty in the minds of recruits. Those are facts. Hell I'm guilty of it myself. I want Gus gone. The problem is, when he is now NOT gone, major damage is done to the relationships that the staff have worked hard to build on. Now, the recruits are unsure if Gus will even be with them for one year.

And not one factual statement was made by our e-tards the whole time.

Recruiting rankings are fake bro. You shouldn't be concerned

Yes, but weren't recruiting rankings re-created to hype the "death star"?

Are there any recruits that are particularly close to Chip? Can't imagine him leaving helps with Putnam

I think it depends on who we get. If we get Freeze I doubt we lose anyone and probably pick up a few.. even Kodi would probably be able to hold onto most guys imo (I don't think he should get the job though), but if we hire someone like Eli Drinkwitz I think we will lose a couple. All just guesses by me though.

If we manage to get Freeze, you gotta think that all but locks up Pickens. What receiver wouldnt want to play for him?
