Now for Wednesday's update

- KN asked 3* DE Colby Wooden which current AU players have played major roles in his recruitment. Unsurprisingly he mentioned Derrick Brown who has long been a big time player recruiter for the Tigers. The other name he mentioned was TD Moultry

- 4* RB Derrian Brown will more than likely commit to Texas soon. Brown grew up an AU fan & likes the Tigers but communication has died off between the two sides. Says he has no hard feelings & understands it's just how recruiting goes. KN speculates that AU wants a bigger back this cycle (sup Lanier )

- Stud 2021 QB Brock Vandagriff is expected to visit AU a few times this fall including for the Washington game & then any of the SEC home games. His mom is an AU grad & he apparently went to a ton of AU games as a kid. Expected to also visit Clemson, UGA & UNC this fall

- Doesn't sound like AU will pursue Lowell Narciess

- KN not surprised to see Puckett rising in the rankings. Source told him recently that staff view him as a "freak". He's apparently bulked up to 200 lbs for this season since he's playing safety but will probably slim down a bit when he gets to AU so he can be more agile at CB. KN has heard some buzz he might get invited to one of the All-American games soon

Wolk interviewed 4* RB MarK-Antony Richards recently. Richards admits he sees the buzz about him going to MIA because of his brother but he points out the Ridley brothers as examples of guys doing their own thing. Says he likes MIA but just because his brother goes there doesn't mean he's a lock to attend. Wolk said he asked Richards an open ended question & just let him talk about his top schools. Here's summary of each

AU - He's known Gus Malzahn since the 8th grade & that's played a huge role. No other coach in his top group can match that apparently. Then mentions how he's clicked with Lindsey, Horton & Burns. Likes fact that AU has consistently produced 1,000 yard rushers & was impressed by last year's performance

MIA - Has known Mark Richt for awhile too, since his freshman year. Close with the Canes staff & loves the family feel

UF - Likes UF's game plan to use him as a receiving back. Also likes fact that UF is a good academic school

PSU - Former UF coach & now stud Penn State recruiter Jajuan Seider is big reason for interest in Nittany Lions (he's guy that beat AU for John Dunmore). Says something different about Penn State & loves to visit

TEN - Likes Jeremy Pruitt & his history of winning national titles. Interested to see how they do this season

Richards admitted to Wolk that AU & MIA have separated themselves from the pack. He has OVs set to both schools with AU visit for LSU game & MIA visit for FSU. Might have one set soon for UF but no guarantee he uses all his OVs. One of the biggest factors in his decision will be how open school is to letting him play on offense. Says no school has been more open than AU & he really likes plan they have for him. Richards plans to wait until Feb national signing day to make his decision

Wolk had some more nuggets in that article

- Wolk named 3 OHST prospects that AU is recruiting & with Meyer's situation up in air could have an impact on: 4* OL Harry Miller, 4* S Jordan Battle & 3* ATH Steele Chambers (he's a 3* on Rivals)

- AU would take Chambers as a RB but apparently they really like him at linebacker

- Apparently AU really likes Battle. They don't feel like they have to take another safety due to how well freshman class is doing but they would absolutely take Battle if possible

- AU will continue to recruit Miller but given focus & probably better odds for William Putnam or Clay Webb, AU isn't really desperate

- Wolk still believes Wooden & Puckett will commit to AU

- He thought Pritchett would commit soon to AU but now echoes KN's info that AU is being patient at CB. The staff really likes Pritchett but clear there are a lot of options to evaluate right now

one of the mods on Rivals mentioned that if he wants to play RB that one factor for consideration is that Miami leads for McIntosh at that position, and just signed 5* RB Lorenzo Lingard from last year's class. So he'd be walking into a loaded situation.

I think he's recruitment will come down to 2 things

1.) How badly does he wanna play RB?
2.) Good a job does Miami sell him on getting offensive touches?

This is gonna be tough to win but if he's really bought into idea of being a RB & Miami continues to dance around that option could end up stealing this one. We've stolen supposed locks from Mark Richt before

It isn't difficult. We just want a 5'10 225 back that runs a 4.3 40. Simple.

No confusion. Just pointing out if he adds the 20%ish body mass his freshman, he will be the size of a MLB.

247 has him listed at 6'.5", 196, which still probably means he's 6', 190-ish.

That makes way more sense

FWIW staff agrees with you according to Wolk. AU would like him at LB over RB

4* CB DJ Daniel just crossed everybody up. Was thought to be all Dawg & then committed to SCAR. SCAR 247 says that Muschamp is stunned
