Some good news on Hill via Michael Harris. Hill told Harris plans to sign with AU. The two are planning to room together at AU and are gonna start training together this off-season

UF 247 reporting Quay Walker visiting Bama instead of UGA next weekend. His UF trip still in air but sounds like AU trip still locked in

Lots of good news today I see (Still waiting on you O line).I think I might like Joiner more than anyone else here lol. I don't think his dislike for contact is as bad as everyone makes it out to be. He's faster than most kids in high school so he likes to get into space and run.. I saw a few runs where he lowered he shoulder though.
I really, REALLY hope we wait at CB. None of those guys are must takes right now and if they can't wait then we need to cross them off the list and put that focus somewhere else imo.

Coynis Miller still solid to AU but still wants to take all his visits because he's never been many places

Just watched another Shivers highlight reel. Holy hell, that kid is a beast. He might be my favorite recruit on the board.

I dont get the lack of excitement on Joiner. Sounds like he really wants to be at AU. Besides his stats at 6'2.5 and 215 lb, one of the first RBs we have signed in a while that was not 5'10 190 lbs.

Me too but then again, I didn’t get why Joiner wasn’t a hot commodity being the top ranked uncommitted RB.

I think it’s also important to bear in mind what kind of line he had in high school. One of our employee’s son is the starting center for MB. The kid is barely 200 lbs.

Believe (it was posted here) that everyone wants him to consider something besides RB and that's not what he wants to hear.

You realize that a 5'10 190 pound back is probably as stocky as a 6'2.5 215 pound back, right?
I don't understand the fascination with height at RB. It isn't a plus in any way. The only thing that matters is weight. At 6'2+ the height actually becomes a negative most of the time as it means a naturally much more upright running style (ie: harder to avoid big hits) and lateral agility starts to become impaired. A lower center of gravity is beneficial, not the opposite.
Being 6'3 at RB means literally dick all, yet people talk it up continuously for some stupid reason. Give me a 5'11 220 pound back any day, not some absurdly tall dude that is going to topple over every time he gets hit.

I watched some Joiner film and I understand the complaints on the lack of physicality.
That being said I also watched some Derrick Henry HS film. While Henry appears much faster, both players had a tendency to avoid contact. That is common when you consistently can get to the edge and turn up field untouched.
I think as Joiner adapts to the college game and realizes that he can't out run everybody, his style will change like Henry's did.
I can see Joiner being just fine and being a needed addition to the RB rotation. A big back to get tough yards in short yardage and goal line situations.
Worst case, he bulks up and plays TE/HB or transfers out at the suggestion of a position change. We have a lot of recruiting turnover anyway...

Yeah this is very true. Look at some of the best backs in the NFL. Le'veon Bell, Ezekiel Elliot, David Johnson, Leonard Fournette... they are all around 6'1 and 220-230 pounds. That is pretty ideal for a big time physical/fast RB.
Guys like Kareem Hunt, Dalvin Cook, Devonte Freeman, and LeSean McCoy are all in that 5-10 210-215 range. There are very few guys that are over 6'1 and a successful RB- Derrick Henry and Latavius Murray are the only two I can think of. If you are going to be that big, you should probably weigh over 230 and run extremely physical, constantly lowering your shoulder and trying to run through tackles.

Exactly. Not every back needs to run 1600 yards. He can play a role

I read that he has a 4.7 40 (conflicting reports though) if that's true I don't see any way he stays at RB. His hands are too good and he's too big/slow to be anything other than an H-back or TE imo. Glad Gus showed him Charles Clay because if he buys into that role he could be a really good weapon.
