You have to realize that these two are abnormally large for a corner. 5'10 190lb is average for a corner.

Dean is a freak. He looks like a lber out there. He might move to safety before he leaves. He does not have the best hips for a corner at the next level.

Question for TigerPaw if the Auburn staff could only sign Bo nix or Joey gatewood who do you think they would go with.

I know it's a question about who the staff likes more

Impossible to know. Thankfully don't have to make an either/or decision & should hopefully get both

Personally I think Gatewood has the higher ceiling just because there aren't many 6'4" 230 lb kids who are also one of the fastest players on the field. But he is a long way from that ceiling. Nix is further developed (helps when you are able to focus on QB your whole HS career & have a dad who played in the SEC) & is probably a better pure QB at this point than Gatewood.

Both have a chance to be really good

Looks like a LB but knock on him from insiders is he's not as physical/aggressive as coaches would like. Because of that I doubt he moves to safety.

I know Dean and Carlton are on the big side for CB's, but I could have sworn our coaches said they wanted to target bigger CB's.

I guess I just think a mix would be better. All of our guys are the same size, to me it would make sense to get 1 or 2 bigger guys just to have the ability to match up against big WR's if we want. I can't imagine a 5'10 guy trying to cover someone like Justyn Ross who is 6'4 (just an example, he's all Auburn lol).

Happens every Sunday in the NFL. Revis was tge best corner in the NFL for a decade at 5'11

fair enough, though I think it's way harder for a college DB to win that match up. I would rather have another 6 foot plus CB which is why I would love for us to get Cam Taylor, but that's just personal preference. Like I said a day or two ago, I think we're far from done at CB and new targets will emerge anyway so I'm not too worried about it.

Look no further than Chris Harris Jr, Casey Hayward, Janoris Jenkins and Malcolm Butler.

Bruh, we get it. You have a vested interest in one kid. Doesn't mean you have to drag down other kids we're recruiting.

Bad news on Trey Hill: All UGA insiders & Wolk have him CB'd to UGA. He is taking an OV to UGA this weekend....

So was Hill able to make the trip to Athens in the weather conditions the state had yesterday and this weekend?

If Ga gets Hill to go with Salyer and Ericson, along with that haul from last year,as mentioned before, they will be one heck of a force on the offensive line.

And same with Fl if they haul in all three of the OTs leaning their way.

Hill sounds like a slim chance but we can hope and perhaps we can work on Gouraige, he definitely would see some early playing time in a year or two.

He'll be perfect for that play where the RB kneels behind the OL. Might not even have to kneel, amirite?

Shivers took home state title. That's 3 AU commits with trophies and hopefully another that will soon be a commit. I don't think Gatewood has played yet

Also just remembered Schwartz won as well

I knew Daniels height already, but the info I saw on him had him around 170 lbs. 6'2 170 is too skinny to me, I know he will add weight but how much? and how much before he loses speed? Of course that could just be an old weight and he could be bigger than that already.

I'm aware of all of those NFL corners lol. There are also plenty of bigger CB's in the NFL (Marcus Peters, Patrick Peterson, Jalen Ramsey, Richard Sherman, and Josh Norman, etc.).. Just for my personal preference (and I thought the coaches said as much)I like a mix of bigger and smaller guys.

Don't think I dragged any kids down either? I said I didn't like their size, but I never said they couldn't play. I didn't even really mention the guy I like.. I said I wanted Cam Taylor out of those names that were mentioned. I've wanted Cam Taylor for a while actually, I think he's really underrated. I also said I don't think we sign any of them and some new names will pop up after the early signing period.

Also for anyone interested, Colquitt Co (JJ Peterson) plays tonight at 8 on GPB if you have it.
