Also OHST just took 4* LB K'Vaughn Pope. That probably ends any chance OHST comes after Harris later

Article up on Fields. Gonna wait to see teams this fall before committing. Says coaches can say stuff but he wants to see who backs it up. Apparently he's gotten real close with Jarrett Stidham. Says they text a lot. Fields says Stidham is very focused, spends a lot of time in film room and has goal of being first overall pick, all things Fields believes in as well. Says he talks to AU, UGA, FSU, BAMA and TEX. Says he wants to see how Chip uses Stidham this fall
I think this is all good news for AU. If our offense gets rolling again we can make this happen. Also got to love he's close with Cam and Stidham

This is why I think we are his leader...at the moment. I have been told, by somebody who would know what he is telling our coaches, this same thing. You never know about a kid, but everything he has been saying points to us..........at the moment.

Seems to be a consensus among those who have the right connections.
I just don't see Kirbs changing up everything he does to accommodate one new QB. I might be wrong, but I don't think so.
We won't need to change anything, but just need to be successful at what we already do. Maybe pass it 6-8 times more each week, 2-3 of those being downfield.

Man we really suck. This season needs to hurry and get here so we can either be awesome and turn it around or suck and get somebody else in.

Nawh... not now.
Maybe suck with a bad fall, this years recruiting is just more skewed for a late season run. Withe the Gus on a hot seat press and unknown but changing offense the good guys are still watching (even if verbals elsewhere) and the lower 3stars will either be a blessing or start looking at plan-b.

I agree w your point, but I'd make - a slight changes + addition
1- 10-12+ passes/game:
We were #120/128 in pass att/game, 6-8 more would only bring us to ~75-100 nationally. 10-12+ would be a respectable #40-50
2- Keep our current Downfield passing rate somewhat similar to Nick Marshall years
3- Start passing to RBs/HB out of backfield + TEs
I see no reason we can't have a 2014 Iron Bowl offense. We threw 40+ attempts intermediate to Duke, Downfield to Sammy and it worked. Our WRs have that ability and Stidham the arm

I don't have an issue with a total 10-12 more passing attempts.
But, as far as downfield goes, I am good with whatever number keeps the S & LB honest.
Still, if JS sees the deep route open, hit it! I don't have a set # outside of the above statement.
