Quan Bray had a decent career.

Fun fact- Auburn has signed more high school players from the state of Colorado than Mississippi over the last 7 year.

Perhaps, and I feel what you are playing.

The fact that we have Gatewood, who so many seem to have written off, means we can go ALL OUT! JG is a stud. Period. He has been working with outside coaches, and getting to where he needs to be.

He is not ready to take a team over, put them on his back, and get Natty's! But with a solid year, or two, we will have a stud in the stable, ready for a run for the ??!!! He reminds me of one person out of HS. Don't even have to say who.

Yes and now there is only 1, maybe 2 AU coaches recruiting that state.

THIS!! The athletes are in GA/FL now. with the migration to the ATL in the last 20 years, HS football in that state has become a juggernaut.

there really is no excuse for UGA not having won a couple of Natty's already. Bowlcut has been handed potential success on a silver platter.

Sup fellas?

Finally at a relative that has solid WiFi so here's some nuggets KN dropped over the week and today

- First on Fields, he showed up Thursday evening, went to Jordan-Hare Stadium with Malzahn, Lindsey and several AU players. They weren't in stadium long because of lightning so they have to return to the complex and throw in the indoor facility. Kyle Davis was one of the current players who helped out along with 4* WR Matthew Hill. Apparently he impressed everyone there with his accuracy & arm strength. Fields's father accompanied him on the visit and apparently the staff reallly likes him. Fields spent a ton of time with current player most notably Jarrett Stidham. Apparently he and Fields really click and Stidham is working hard helping AU recruit guys including Fields. Overall AU was very happy with how Field's visit went and the Tigers are "cautiously optimistic". In the past FSU was who they thought was biggest threat but now sounds like they believe UGA is the real threat. Still sounds like Fields will commit in August

- There were rumors 4* OG Tank Jenkins was going to commit this past weekend but held off. Apparently he has told the staff he wants to pick AU but needs to talk things over with his parent before committing. KN says he is absolutely a take

- Clear two team race for 4* LB Michael Harris between AU & OHST. He didn't commit on visit and didn't hear from them for a week after. The whole time AU was in touch. He's close with Larry Porter (area recruiter) & Travis Williams as his mom. The main concern Ohio State has is ACT score but Harris thinks he can get it done. KN says tho if OHST wants him at any time it could still change things. He's visiting this weekend and could be here a 2nd time as well.

- AU continues to recruit Bama commit 4* LB Quay Walker really hard. There's a chance he could visit for the picnic this weekend. AU is no longer just recruiting him at Buck but more as an OLB. AU isn't only team apparently trying to flip em and KN says will be interesting recruitment to follow

- KN had more on Stidham. Fields is good friends with Chandler Wooten but now it sounds like he's really clicked with Stidham. Apparently they hung out a ton and what Fields is looking for in a program matches what Stidham wanted when he signed with AU. KN says some sources believe Fields wants to be a Tiger but it's far from certain

- Bo Nix is expected to cut his list down soon and KN says AU/FSU will no doubt make the cut. Still projecting Nix to AU

- Sounds like we might be backing off 3* Juanyeh Thomas. KN thought he was a CB target but sounds like he is a safety guy and with us landing Monday and pushing for Sherwood along with Fuqua moving to safety, might not be room for Thomas. Thomas announced today he's no longer committing August 5th

- As for 3* S Jamien Sherwood, he's expected to visit this weekend and has become a clear top target

- Clemson just offered 4* RB Asa Martin

If Thomas isn't a CB target, I have no idea who we are recruiting at CB. Maybe staff thinks they can flip Armour-Davis or McMichael? Maybe Foucha is a CB target? There's Charles McClelland too. Honestly confused what's going on at that spot

Tigers ‘still at top’ for LB Zakoby McClain, OL target sorting it out, 4-star QB commit visits (SECCountry)
quote:

Is 4-star LB Zakoby McClain on commit watch?

HOOVER, Ala. — When Zakoby McClain last visited Auburn, he didn’t hide his feelings for the school and its football program.

“Auburn done took No. 1,” McClain said at the time. “[The Tigers’ lead] is kind of big.”

That was all the way back on April 1.

Since then, McClain has added three new Power 5 offers from Ole Miss, Michigan State and Oregon and included them on a top-10 list with Auburn, Tennessee, LSU, West Virginia, South Carolina, Nebraska and Tulane.

As for McClain’s sentiments, however, little has changed.

“Auburn’s still at the top,” McClain told SEC Country.

The 6-foot, 200-pound linebacker from Valdosta (Ga.) hears from Auburn on a weekly basis, and despite other solid linebackers in the class, McClain is certainly an immediate take for the Tigers. West Virginia communicates with McClain on close to the same level as Auburn. Tennessee and LSU aren’t too far behind that, which is why those three schools make up the pack behind Auburn.

But the Tigers’ separation has little to do with the quantity of his conversations with the staff and more to do with the quality of it with Auburn linebackers coach Travis Williams.

“They’re not doing anything different [than other schools]. It just comes down to mine and coach T-Will’s relationship. He’s like a father figure to me. We already know each other and all that stuff,” McClain said. “His message is always just to work hard in everything you do and be a leader on the team.”

Does McClain have a relationship with any other coaches that comes close to what he has with Williams?

“No, not at all,” he said.

McClain said he will “hopefully” make it to Auburn’s cookout on Saturday, which will be his second time on campus. By the way he talks about Williams, it doesn’t seem out of the question for McClain to be on commit watch considering the Georgia linebacker wants his decision out of the way before his senior season.

A commitment, especially if Auburn pushes for it, could be imminent.

“I might. It’s a possibility,” McClain said.

OL target trying to figure out timeline

Tank Jenkins is trying to decide what he wants to do with his decision timeline, he told SEC Country.

The 6-foot-3, 335-pound 4-star offensive lineman from Park Crossing (Ala.) visited Auburn over the weekend, his second time on the Plains within a month. That’s a great sign for the Tigers. But according to Jenkins, the wait could be longer than he previously thought.

Jenkins told SEC Country it’s possible he doesn’t announce his decision until National Signing Day.

That’s a major change from what Jenkins has said in the past. Previously, Jenkins said a June decision would be likely. Then he said he thought it would probably happen before the season.

He admitted that with a few weeks left in the summer, he might still be able to take the visits he wants and have the conversations with coaches he wants to help him make a summer decision. But he’s not necessarily counting on it.

If he doesn’t make a summer decision, it appears Jenkins intends on extending his decision as long as possible.

Regardless of when he commits, Auburn has a legitimate chance of landing Jenkins. I still haven’t put in a Crystal Ball prediction. If I did, it would probably be Auburn, and that projection likely will come from me in the near future.

Auburn QB commit returns ‘home’

While everyone worries about 5-star quarterback Justin Fields’ plans, remember that Auburn already has a top-tier quarterback committed in the 2018 class.

Joey Gatewood returns to the Plains for a visit to start this week. He arrived Sunday afternoon and will stay until Tuesday. Gatewood hasn’t been at Auburn since the spring game because he was unable to attend Big Cat Weekend.

Here’s the good news: Gatewood is thrilled to be back in on the Plains, per his tweet upon arrival that read, “Back home” with an Auburn University pin. The not-so-good news? He won’t be staying for the July 22 cookout to help recruit.

But when it comes to Gatewood, I always get the same question: What would he do if Auburn landed Fields?

Based on conversations with Gatewood and people around him — nothing. It wouldn’t change anything for Gatewood. He embraces any and all competition. He remains committed to the Tigers, as he has been since December 2015, and he’s adamant that won’t change regardless of what happens

Someone asked KN about CB targets since Thomas is a safety. Says he knows of Charles McClelland and Christian Tutt also that AU is still hard after Kyler McMichael. Very curious to see what we do at CB

I think there's a chance but nothing set in stone right now. No set list just yet I have seen. I know Zakoby McClain, Michael Harris, Justyn Ross and Jamien Sherwood are expected to be there.
