Can schools place the same restrictions on grad transfers as regular transfers?
Nope. They have their degree which means they are free to go.

I also think JF3 ends up at WR for us and emergency depth at QB
If JJ transfers it's highly likely JF3 stays @ QB for depth at very least because Gus wants 4 scholly QBs on roster at all times if he can.

This is not correct. Your previous school has to give permission

The ship with Holland had long sailed. Somebody even suggested that we backed off for behavioral problems. And Cowart had a 0% chance of signing with Auburn before Muschamp. And you can consider Ryan Davis as another recruit that he brought over as well.

And it's not just the recruits that he brought to Auburn that really took it to Florida; it was the fact that he took them to Auburn on Florida's dime. That was the hilarious part.

That was before we hired Boom.

Damn! You're right. I just checked the NCAA manual. If a grad transfer does not get a permission to contact letter from his current school he has to sit a year just like any other transfer.

If he can sell Columbia, South Carolina and that school to out of state recruits then so be it he earned them. But no coach including Spurrier has done that there and I believe Muschamp will have a hard time as well. Especially with Dabo and Kirby as his main competitors for area talent

All of this. I really don't understand the USCe move. It'll be really hard to succeed there.

With the east being down it will be fairly easy to meet SC fanbase expectations IMO. It certainly won't be easy but if he can average 8-10 wins he should be set

Muschamp should be able to recruit at Auburns level if he puts together the staff to do it

Virginia/DC top ~10 state is a free for all and USCe has a proximity/SEC advantage compared to others

USCe is in position to raid NC

Staff has strong FL/Miami ties

GA always has enough to go around

I don't think Muschamp will clean house there but I think he can bring in elite guys and a top 20 class year in and year out.

It'll be interesting to see if he can get facility upgrades. That's something that Spurrier eased up on in later years

With Clemson/UNC at their current highs, it will make things harder for sure. I can see them doing extremely well with low-mid 4*s who they jump on early and win due to longterm relationship. The Tim Irvin/Jamal Dean/Jerraud Davis guys of the world. That gets you top 10-15

With McElwain, Smart, UTk and others getting major upgrades pushed through, got to believe USCe will start something. They have a lot of facility improvement potential

Averaging 8-10 is going to be very difficult, considering the current talent level and they have to play Clemson every year. I know the east is down, but they're still well behind four or five of their permanent opponents -- UF, UGA, UT, Clem, A&M.

I think they'll recruit well... And hiring Bentley with strong SC high school ties is probably a good move. Roper could be a disaster though.

Will definitely be interesting to watch over the next couple years... And could affect our recruiting.

Well if you take a look at the USCe board recruiting thread it is pretty obvious that Muschamp and Trob are contacting most of our D recruits. That should tell you how devoid of talent the state of South Carolina is.

Update on Broussard:

He says Muschamp and TRob does alter his decision a little bit. Oklahoma and MSU have contacted him. Oklahoma was trying for a visit. Broussard said he likely won't make that visit. He doesn't really see any team as a threat to Auburn right now but he wants to make sure he meshes with the new DC.

I can respect that. Sounds like he is disappointed TRob is gone but wants to be an AU Tiger unless we hire a DC that he hates

Has not been contacted by SCe yet as of yesterday. Also his girlfriend starts @ AU soon & does not like SCe FWIW.

Won't know for sure til we get a new DC but you gotta like SCe's chances there.

Per Keith, the recruit our staff wants to keep the most that SCe has targeted is Paul James.
