We should offer Craig Kuligowski, the Missouri DL coach, $1.25million/ year (or more) to be Auburn's DL coach. Guy is easily best DL coach in college football and has followed Gary Pinkel for 20+ years. With Pinkel leaving, we should throw the house and the cars at him

I said that in a thread on the rant the other day.

His DL did a fantastic job against us in the SEC championship game.

From my rant post about Mizz DL coach

quote:

To put into perspective, Kuligowksi has had a player named to an All Conference 1st or 2nd team every year since 2001. 7 of the past 8 years he has had a 1st team All Conference DL

Some of the CK DL Heroes
3* DE Aldon Smith - 1st RD pick
3* DT Ziggy Hood - 1st RD pick
5* DT Sheldon Richardson - 1st RD Pick
3* DE Markus Golden - 2nd Rd Pick
3* DE Shane Ray - 1st RD Pick SEC DPOY
4* DE Kony Ealy - 2nd RD Pick
0* Atiyyah Ellison - 3rd RD Pick
3* DE Michael Sam - SEC DPOY

Missouri always gets crushed in big games. They give up tons of yards. Not sure how you can even argue that. They always play 4 cupcakes each year that pads their stats. You have to look at meaningful games to judge their coaches. Give me a guy who recruits in FL and has a proven track record in games that matter. The guy at FSU comes to mind.

Dude, you can't ignore the development this guy generates with these castoff players no D1 program wants. Imagine what the guy to do with some recruiting pull.

We ran all over them because they were basically in a 3-3 the entire game for some stupid reason He's done an incredible job developing mediocre talent and hasn't really had any busts.

The thing that impresses me with FSU's dline is their ability to time passes and knock them down. They really don't generate that much pressure from the dline, but they knock down balls regularly.

I didn't realize the DL coach is responsible for the entire defense.

Normally when you regularly put out 1st/2nd RD defensive linemen, have them named all conference and then succeed in the NFL you are a good coach.

But this wizard of 3*s sucks because their LB/DBs always suck

Just so you are aware, statistically you are full of sh**.

Their season averages are very close to their split adjusted average vs FBS Winning record opponents

Do you just randomly post without fact checking? They started the season with Southeast Missouri State, Arkansas State, and Connecticut. Basically the same gauntlet each year. And to my point, having a guy who has spent his career in the mid west recruiting southern Texas would be a terrible hire, not to mention that D fails against quality opponents.

That's like blaming J.B. Grimes for our poor QB play.

Not only do you not understand that "season averages" is plural over the course of the career, Mizz 2015 sack totals for example have been better vs SEC than non conference foes

SEC Sacks per Game: 3.1667
OOC Sacks per Game : 1.75

1- Florida (5 sacks)
2- South Carolina (4 Sacks)
3- Miss St (3 Sacks)
3- Vandy (3 sacks)
3- UConn (3 sacks)

6 - Georgia (2sacks)
6 - Arkansas State (2 sacks)
6- Kentucky (2sacks)

9- BYU (1 sack)
9- Irrelevant School (1 sack)

Sacks per game SEC -

Just to be clear, this isn't an anomaly. Nearly every year Missouri's sack totals against the SEC is right around what their OOC schedule sack totals

How about you fact check before talking out of your a** next time.

This is a legit argument. I agree that this would be the one downside and the only hope would be that he could sell his resume.

Just because you clearly aren't fact checking a single thing you are talking about in regards to this discussion

Quick Facts:
Missouri defense averaged ~119 rush ypg before Auburn.
Missour vs P5 teams not Auburn ~123 YPG

Both those numbers are comfortably inside the top 25 rush defenses. Their speciality however was sacks and QB hurries though so this hsouldn't even be relevant.

So Maybe our #1 rated rushing offense just obliterated everyone by the end of the season?

296 on Alabama (83.5 rush ypg in other games)
323 on UGA (~123 rush ypg in other games)
444 yards vs UTk (~170 ypg)
