Trinity Valley (Texas) Community College QB Jérod Evans was just informed by Auburn offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Rhett Lashlee that the Tigers will not be signing a junior college QB in the 2016 class.
That's funny, because...

Pretty sure we're taking Franklin as an ATH not a QB

Word is that we're not necessarily recruiting JF3 at QB though

These converted QBs never seem to work for us.

It smells like a fish market in here!

If we finish in the top fifteen along with four other SEC schools then what advantage do we have to get in playoffs that the other four or five don't? If anything, as a conference, we just merely negate our national rankings by having so many SEC teams that can recruit,

quote:IMO wrong. I think it means a vote of confidence from our staff in Sean White. Sean is not the problem & Evans ain't the solution. If Evans were the QB this year the O would still stumble. The WRs would still be dropping passes. Also the OL is not blocking near the level it did in 2013 & 2010. Combine that with D's crashing the DL & having the LBs fill any gaps & getting up on the edges Evans run ability would be slowed a good bit.
We aren't taking Evans because we're going to sign 5"11 170lb John Franklin

We need an offense that is closer to what Bryan Harsin ran with Kellen Moore. Great balance and very very good passing game/concepts.

I like Bentley and wouldn't mind the following staff
DC - QB Coach/Co-OC
Bentley - WR Coach
Dinkowitz- Co-OC/TE Coach
Horton - RB/ST coach

We only have room for 1 more lb but we can waste a scholly on a "ath" to run wildcat and return punts for us.
This is the issue with Gus Malzahn. Until we get a coach that cares as much about defense as he does offense we'll never be consistently good again.

But we don't fall behind either. Landing in the top 15 means you have the talent to compete. After that it's what you do with that talent that matters. We have not done a great job of consistently developing talent. This is also why SEC West is so damn tough

Dinkowitz

He's been discussed several times on this board as a potential OC candidate if lashlee moves on.

Why not get a wr if they want a wr. This kid wowed Lashlee by running all over some hapless community college and now he gets a scholly from AU when his only other offer was from Buffalo. Makes no since when we need bodies on D

Yeah, that's why he hired Muschamp, right? Because he doesn't care about defense...
