? Could provide help next season. He could also be from a Miami HS we are trying to establish connections with. We literally have no pass rushers outside of CL. When he goes pro next season, we'll need bodies.

quote:Because he left Illinois for Juco in the middle of August just before the season started so he probable has not beenevaluated by any sites yet. Almost all jucos get rated after their season is over. PJ3 is in season 1 of juco.
Why is he unranked on any site if he is so good? Honest question.

When he goes pro next season

I meant after this season. His talent is so obvious. It doesn't help he plays the scond most position of need outside of QB. I would be surprised if he is in an AU uniform next season.

Interesting stuff from JLee. SIAP
-AU wants 8-9 DL, 2 LB, & 4 DB in this class
-Wants a juco Buck, Juco DT, & a juco SDE
-Paul James top juco Buck target & Keir Thomas Top HS Buck target.

That's very telling of our current situation on D. As bad as this season has been, Gus seems to be quick on addressing issues.

Except in the redzone.

This is what it is going to take to get us back where we need to be on defense. Our last 5 or 6 classes have been way too heavy on offense while leaving the defense bare.

Certainly need to do this too taking JUCO guys in needed spots. i think we are actually ok in the secondary for next year but will need guys that can play the year after. I would love for a guy to come in and play young like Davis has.

There really are just so many needs. WR is going to be a major issue next year if we can't get a guy or two to come in and play right away.
This team is so desperate for true play makers. Barber is a good bruising back and runs hard which I appreciate but leaves a lot to be desired in terms of vision, speed, and elusiveness. Roc just hasn't panned out so far. Robinson finally showed flashes yesterday so at least there's hope there.
Outside of Louis there isn't a single reliable receiver that can get open consistently. Yes I know he has some drop issues but nobody else even gets open very often. A receiving corps of Marcus Davis, Jason Smith, and Tony Stevens isn't going to frighten anyone. We need Stove to be ready to play and to get Kyle Davis on board and hope he's ready too. Also, any word on Slayton? Seems like he should be getting some chances if he is as good as advertised.
Whatever long rant just to say please give us some DL and WR who can come in and play next year.

Last thing I saw on Slayton was that he is one WR injury away from them dropping the RS.

DL and WR recruiting (along with juco QBs) is what Hugh Freeze has focused on... and the results show. They're pretty average talent wise everywhere else.

I hope our OL never gets in the situation theirs is in. Aside from Tunsil, they have a below average line. Hence why they struggle between the tackles against any remotely good DL.

Hate to break it to you, but our OL is not much better than OM OL. When we face a team with a good DL we cannot run inside. That is why we attack the C gap so much. Kozan got completely worked yesterday. And Golston is not very strong.
Plus outside of Harrell, the guys we signed last year are not going to make much of an improvement.

We have an average line. It's not much better than theirs but it's definitely better.

Everyone has always been all up on Kozans jock. He is great with technique but he has always been too weak. Him and Dismukes being abused in BCSNCG cost us the game.
Golson seems slower to block off the sbap than weak.

He was a freshman starting every game on one of the most dominant OL in SEC history, we scored 31 points in the championship game including missing a chip shot FG.
I don't think that's what cost us the game.
Prob just hasn't/won't fully recover from the back issue last year.

63 had a bad game yesterday... I'm sure the back has a lot to do with it... Even assuming he won't have longterm affects, he still lost out on a lot of development.

I'm pointing out that his weak part of his game was always physicality/athleticism and missing a full year Of S&C was huge

He was a RS Freshman. Doesn't change that his weak point was his athleticism/strength and Jernigan in the second half blew him and Dismukes up

Just because Tunsil got eaten alive by Lawson doesn't mean he isn't a great LT.
On the same note, just because 1st RD Jernigan and future #1 NKemdiche blew Kozan up doesn't mean he isn't a great OG. Just has places to improve
