Why is it funny to you that JJ could be moved to TE?

He'll be a SR next year, so its unlikely he'll transfer out to play QB. JJ seems like a team guy who loves AU and will want to help the team where he can.

He's got the size, the strength, the athleticism, the speed of a TE. He was damn near Mr. basketball as a PF in HS and those guys usually hands. We've already seen him lined up out wide in wildcat formations this year.

Move him to LB and see if he can produce as many interceptions.

If he wants to be a professional athlete he'll beg to play TE

He would be a better basketball player than TE.. If it was that easy, Tebow could do it.

Tebow's attempt at TE was half assed. His type of athleticism doesn't translate to TE the way JJ's does. And other than Dallas Clark I can't think of any great NFL TE's that were Tebow's size. If Tebow really wanted to move positions he should have made a run at FB. Completely different situations.

Besides, the key here is the basketball background. To be an elite basketball player you have to develop good hands. JJ's are the size of baseball mits so he's probably a natural anyway. Before Tebow started playing QB as a junior in HS he played DL. As far as I can he never played any other sports and was just an awkward home schooled kid. He never had to develop his hands until he spent a couple mini camp practices at TE 4 years into his NFL career. Again, completely different situation.

Well first and foremost he does not like contact. Going all the way back to his HS days, he never has and likely never will. You can't play TE without at least being ok to get physical some. You may come back with he could be a receiving TE. He still has to block some which he has never done a day in his life. It's difficult enough for HBs & TEs to block in space in this offense which is required. What makes you think a converted QB can do it? Lastly what's the point of having a receiving TE anyway in this offense? There are very few plays in this O specifically designed for them. Look at CJs time at AU. This O has no quick hitters, hot routes, or anything of the sort which would be good for TEs, especially to counter blitzes.

Unless he graduates in 3 years he can't transfer anyway.

Davis, Stove, Craig would be our 3 starting WRs next year. Come on boys, make it happen!

Forget JUCO, I'm ready to scour the juvenile centers to find some DL. I want the meanest mofos out there.

Which is why many of us want a real oc that can add to this offense.

I hate to be so harsg but your theory that if someone can catch a basketball it translates to good hands for football is ridiculous. There is so much to developing a good basketball player but good hands ain't 1 of them. In that department you have have to avoid Rob Chubb hands. Also a basketball has much more surface are and is a sphere which makes it much easier to catch than a football. For example, I have 1 fully functional hand but I never had a problem catching a basketball and never turned it over on a missed catch either in games. JJ may have good enough hands to be a receiving TE but being able to catch a basketball gives 0 indication of that.

Still would have to get the ok from Gus to add those elements and I'm not sure that's going to happen.

Not even gonna argue the main point anymore, but you and I both know that the only reason Robb Chubb was allowed to play basketball is because he was 7 feet tall
If you're "only" 6'6" and have Robb Chubb hands then you don't get recruited by major colleges or lead your team to a 6A state championship.

A running qb def helps. Our O line is playing ok not great plus we seem to have one rb right now in Barber. I love the kid to death he plays his guys out but his vision is pretty damn bad he misses holes a lot and just tries to truck people if he had good vision he would be a lot better

We have two RBs. The second one is probably better than Barber too
