It seems very counter intuitive, but if you are a big bodied stretch the field type WR, there are some solid arguments to be on an Auburn/Georgia tech run heavy team
I've talked to a GT friend who had this theory about why their WRs typically are high picks and do well. We need to coach/recruit with this mentality
1- They learn to do the WR grunt work like blocking
While the NFL is a passing league, blocking still is a big role in the offense. Look at the Falcons right now, they frequently are running bubble&tunnel screens, RB dump passes etc. Blocking on the edge is essential and important for this type of passing game
2- Their stats/highlight film reflects absurd big plays due to play action. It is the Al Davis draft stock boost theory
Georgia Tech WRs and guys like Sammie Coates frequently have insane yards per catch numbers and TDs. Due to teh run heavy nature of the offense, they frequently have 1on1s on the outsdie and w/ safeties in the box easily can beat teams over the top.
3- Success in those offenses require team first WRs
In a world where guys like Dez Bryant fall to the end of the 1st RD due to personality issues, GT offenses produce team first WRs. Surprisignly that is a big deal to the NFL scouts from reports out there.

I should clarify, I'm not saying elite WRs SHOULD go to a GT type run offense. Just that for big bodied WRs (i.e. guys who can block well) who have legit downfield threat speed, they won't kill their NFL future by going there

Georgia Tech receivers are selected high because their staff somehow keeps finding huge guys with absurd athleticism that NFL teams drool over. Most of those guys are drafted off of their Combine triangle numbers and upside, despite the fact that most of them have been insanely raw. Blocking helps, but no one is drafting a WR in the top 2-3 rounds because they can block well.
Basically, if those 6'5 230 pound GTech receivers were running 4.60-4.70 instead of 4.35-4.45 they wouldn't be drafted anywhere near as high as you've seen then drafted.

True. Except our receivers can't block.

We need to start teaching them to block is my point and stop worrying about how they can juke on BS bubble screens

Because they recruit big bodied athletic wide receivers. They don't care about how they play in space etc which our staff for some reason does. Which is weird because only RBs play in space for us
Then the GT WRs have highlights of them running wide open downfield 4-6 times per year which is athleticism only

Our receivers sans Duke have blocked pretty well. It's all they do now.

Ricardo does quite often. Jason Smith and Davis should be if we had a QB.

I wonder wtf the staff is talking about in pressers when they say "the wrs really stepped up today"
I mean we hardly ever use the wrs in game situations. What are they doing at practice to draw praise and why isn't it transitioning to the field?

@DerekTysonESPN: Just got off the phone with #Auburn DB commit John Broussard, said he's planning to visit #FSU the next two weekends.

haha he seems like the kind of turd we would get and end up being the next team cancer. Unfortunately it's a risk we have to take due to the total lack of other options.

Our bagmen sucks. There is no other way to sugarcoat it. We are not pushing the money like we should be and we are not hiding these recruiting efforts under the disguise of good ole boy christian principles like Hugh Freeze has mastered to perfection.

Auburn is where good recruiters go to die. This was supposed to be a staff built on "recruiting" yet we are awful.

Thank god. I was worried about possibly getting some good young talent on the line this season.
