And what exactly did you base that "call" on?

Im trying to learn the recruiting thing..

Recent interviews at the time of his commitment + the out of nowhere nature of the commitment after an unplanned visit to Knoxville.

Here is the info I was waiting on. Buddy (WDE) posted on AUC:
CWM has to appvove all defensive recruits. Period. He wants kids that can move. Particularly on the DL. These last couple of "under the radar" kids have been on CWM's radar for months. Fast, athletic, teachable kids. Plenty of room to grow physically & mentally. And basically CWM made the move because they, and they will be a couple of others, are not so "under the radar" anymore. uat offer one a couple weeks ago and its a "committable" offer. CWM just likes these last couple of D-line commits better than some of the higher rated kids.

And AU will have a couple of top rated DL's and DE's sign next February. Going to get one DL next month. Could get a commit from a top DE anytime.

I think there is a little of both on the CWM liking other kids and other school doing a great job recruiting. Lets take uga. I'm told CWM loves Tyler Clark but thinks Rochester is way overrated, And AU didn't fight all that hard for JR. CWM loves Brown and AU is putting on the full press.

So in other words. Boom has this under control. And he isn't worred at all.

And the private commitment is not Boykin. I don't want to gloat, but...we will all be happy within a month or so.

ETA: Okay, I occasionally like to gloat.

Nah brah, you got wrong info. It's all Garner's fault.

Ya. How dare he suggest that we aren't failing miserable at recruiting and that the blame towards Garner is unwarranted

OH! By all means, every tackle missed, and every point scored against us, is ALL Garner!!

I didn't say Jackson is the private commit. I said Saturday that I predicted it was him.

I didn't say he wasn't either. I have learned my lesson on that "Jinxing" stuff.

Well we are dumb then. The kid has dominated games in Georgia's biggest classification since he was a sophomore in high school.

Does this have any relation to how we feel about Bolles?

Some guy on Volnation is claiming that Hamm just blew out his knee, like right after decommitting. No idea how legitimate that is.

He has disappeared for some big games every year.

Of the ELITE guys, Brown, Jackson, Gary and Lawrence are higher on many team's boards.

IMO no. Hamm is a Guard/Center target.

Good.

As for Rochester, even if he isn't as good any of those "ELITE" guys he's still easily good enough and possesses the size for us to press hard for him given our early position with him and extreme need for his position.

He's not a project, has the size to come in and play early which we need desperately. He has the potential to be a 1st round NFL draft pick. If we truly didn't try hard for him, which I don't really believe, then we are morons.

TTs dead? Regarding D recruiting: We're offensive school. That's why we stock OL, QBs, RBs, etc. It is not surprising we struggle slightly with top ranked D recruits. With that in mind, we just need a top 30-40 ranked D (6 or 7 ranked in the SEC). Let Boom get his guys and teach them. To put it in perspective for the ones freaking out, on paper, our current defensive players are probably the highest ranked we have ever had. How has that worked the past few years? Let the guy who is getting paid 1.7 million evaluate and pick defensive players. Malzahn has proven that if the DC can't cut it, he will replace him ASAP.
