I just hope we don't fill up on DL before Rochester, Jackson, and Davidson want to get on board.

Are you suggesting the staff wouldnt take those three if they fill up? They would make room somehow Im sure.

We have plenty of room for DL in this class.

Anyhow, there's a myth to coaches only having x slots for x positions. I've only seen that happen with highly ranked guys once and that was Urbs with a ridiculous DL at Florida a few years ago. This staff builds in flexibility toward the end to take the best available if it improves the team most.

These coaches aren't fools. They're not going to take a bunch of D linemen just because. Those three are priorities.

I guess what I'm saying is I hope having 3-4 already committed doesn't steer any of those guys away.

We have one DE and a TE/DE. Why would that deter DT's?

ETA: Did not realize Williams was being considered as a DT. So that is one DT and a TE that may end up at DE.

Quinnen Williams just jumped to #15 DT nationally and #8 in the state of Alabama on 247's new ranking!

huh?

We have Williams at DT, Rice who may or may not play DE and Davis Jr, who is an Ath and certainly not a sure bet to play DE. We certainly don't have 3-4 already committed.

Davis Jr is not playing DE

He is a Safety, and may eventually grow into a LB

I wasn't saying he was going to, just relating it to the post saying we had 3-4 DL committed, assuming that he was talking about Davis. I think he'll probably grow into an OLB with how tall he already is.

I wonder what prompted the new ranking? Camp? Film review?

Bama bumps theirs to 5*s.....

They looked at his film. Quinnen Williams was more or less unknown before his initial commitment came out of nowhere. I don't think he even had a profile on the recruiting sites.

Is rice a DL?

This kid could end up anywhere; even on the OL IMO. To be completely honest I'd be surprised if he played TE for us; he's already big and likely to get bigger...and its not like TE's (the type he'd project to be) are even used that much in our offense.

He's DL/OL for me.

Our LB targets listed don't seem to high on AU based on the CBs so far.
I know I do and will have to say this a lot so please don't get irroitated with me as I will noit be irritated posting it.

Every crystal ball pick is completely worthless except for the 247 team reporters of the teams involved the most in a kid's recruitment.
