Per 247 staff wants 8-9 Dlinemen currently have 0 committed.
Per someone very close with Elijah Holyfield'recruitment AU seems to be losing what ground we had gained on UGA and Bama. UGA has turned up the heat and Holyfield had a really good visit to Bama. Keith has always thought if UGA turned up heat they could take the lead for him.
In better news.... AU will get Malik Miller Thursday!
Staff wants to take 2-3 backs this class and per Miller they have pitched him only RB...never once mentioned FB to him.
Also 5* Rashan Gary visiting Friday-Saturday

So ready for September in regards to Football. (Not willing to give up the beach!)
We take care of business, and all will be well. Then after NSD 2016, rinse, wash, and repeat? (tRant...whatchagunado?)

It really shouldn't. SO much time before NSD. Literally not even halfway through the 2016 cycle. We're not a state school, so most kids aren't growing up around 80% people who loved Auburn in their state like UGA does, LSU does or Bama does. We're THE most successful not state school in the country, but we're still not granted the advantages that those schools have in regards to recruiting. It is what it is. We'll still get ours, and we'll still end up with a top 10-ish class like we always do.

Keef Kneebur@Keef247Spots Great news on the DL recruiting Auburn fans. Four of the 247 top 2000 are showing interest in Auburn. Remember these names as their commitments could be forthcoming. Connor Novak-Goar DT, Dillon Radunz SDE, Nick Kramer WDE, Jake Fuzak DT. #BOOM#Garner#DoingWork#WDE

Agree with this. It is the reality many struggle with.

I have learned to not really care about that. We need DL. Don't care if we finish with a #25 class, as long as we fill our position needs.

and you won't get a top 10 class with a DL class of 8 guys that are all diamonds in the rough 2-3*. We'll get more than our share of 4-5* DL. Always have. All we really LOST were two DL that were 3*, which if we accepted their commitments right now people would think our pets heads were falling off.

Yea, we've got a tough battle right now. We haven't had a real competitive defense in a long while. We've got a DC that every other school is going to belabor the point that he won't be here very long, true or not, and we aren't a state school.
It is going to take a strong on field performance to remedy it. Until then, defensive recruiting will probably be a little depressing.

Looks like David Marshall has come slinking back home after trying to get his dick wet with the tide per AU Rivals site

Obviously didn't get the committable offer he wanted.
I'm with KK on this one... leave him hanging. Tell him we're still looking around and we'll get back to him IF we decide we need him.

Yeah I agree. Tell that kid he can keep visiting but we don't want his commit right now. He can sign come February maybe

Take his commitment only if he agrees to no more visits and that the offer is pulled otherwise. He will not scare away other targets, etc. he reacted to the recruiting pitch at Bama. Job for life, etc.

I wish we were in a position to turn him away, but we aren't.
