I just don't think RG is a good Dline coach. He was almost run out of UGA and our line play has been bad.
Thank you. Garner is overrated. We need all new blood on D.
Plus with Lawing, he already knows Muschamp's system. Garner would only have a short time to learn it after NSD and before spring practice. We all know that he cannot multitask, as E tells us he neglected recruiting this year to coach last year.

Where did you find the Marlon Davidson info? I wanted to read it but did not see anything on AUC or AUR.

We pretty much stopped recruiting Walker

didn't know that. Why is that? Grade risk or just couldn't make up ground?

Doesn't fit Muschamps scheme at all

No Sheffield was never considering Auburn but it's another 5* athlete at alabama.

I'm kinda scared of the recruiting juggernaut Oregon will be if they finally win it all.
They have the Nike money to recruit nationally, fun trendy O, and could be a legit threat

Why? They'll never have a significant foothold in the south.

They already are as talented as anyone... they have one of the best college QBs of the last 20 years, a boatload of skill talent, very good front four, an NFL corner (who's hurt and their still kicking FSUs arse).
They've been the winningest team of the last decade... I just don't see them all of a sudden becoming more of a threat, but I could be wrong.

What I'm saying is they could still recruit better. That's why it's scary

Because while they have a lot of talent, they still strike out on some topend talent they want. Their eval team is legit as hell but to think they are a recruiting power is wrong.

It's not that I think they aren't... They definitely are. I just don't see them winning an NC this year making Helfrich and his staff all of a sudden consistent top 3-5 recruiters who we're having to battle it out for guys.

quote:I do. From top to bottom on a whole their D is mediocre at best. I don't even think the south is remotely an issue as you guys are discussing. If they can get higher quality players on D from Cali then all of college football might as well bend over cuz Oregon would own it with better players on D and more quality depth.

The rise of USC again could hurt the ducks imho.

It could, if USC were to ever rise again. Sark is an average coach and it isn't just Oregon picking up their recruits. UCLA with Jim Mora has been great, Arizona State always plucks a few here or there and UofArizona as well.
Just like Notre Dame, Texas, Miami and Michigan, everyone thinks it is a foregone conclusion they "rise again." It is more likely that none of those teams win a national championship this decade or even show up to one
