FWIW the staff disagrees with you. Malik is the staff's #1 RB on their board for the 2015 and 2016 classes combined.

Watching his film, he just looks really slow through the hole. He's hard as shite to tackle, but just doesn't look fast at all to me...

That's a really big statement. Not to mention a pretty unusual and risky position to take.

I get the same feeling. I dont understand the schematic fit at all. Obviously we want north/south runners with size, but you need burst and elusiveness to hit the holes and bounce outside in this offense. Miller's speed looks fairly average and his weight scares me...kid is already huge as a Sophomore, what weight is he going to play at once he's actually in his 2nd, 3rd year in college?

He looks like a better fit in an offense like Alabama's, Arkansas', or LSU's.

Also at Creekside: Venzell Boulware He doesn't have an offer from us but has a quality albeit short sheet. He visited this week with his teammates.

We seem to be good at taking ole miss recruits. Barber, Daniels, whitehead just to name a few. And now these guys

Whitehead was MSU but your point still stands.

Actually Whitehead may have been OM and MSU... or maybe I'm confused. Oh well.

He was a MSU commit. Ole Miss was trying to flip him but not having much luck.

I may be wrong but I believe Travis Williams is coaching at Creekside.

I completely disagree FWIW. I think you're focusing on this years personell when equating what a running back needs to be to fit our system. Someone with this guy's style could just as easily fit and flourish.

Exactly. The new staff wanted Derrick Green bad last year and he was a bruiser without great speed. Also Gus had very good success with Ben Tate in 2009 and he was also without top end speed.

No risk. It's not something they are saying publicly. It was just info posted by a friend who often gets good info.

Ben Tate ran a sub-4.4 at the combine which is pretty elite speed for a running back.

Interesting. He does not run near that fast in pads. I have never seen him break away from anybody.

actually they were....Houston Nutt was told that Whitehead was all but his. Then Auburn offered when things went south with Roberson and Whitehead picked AU and left Nutt in the cold.

IIRC he broke away on one of those plays where both guards pull against Tennessee or Arky and broke away from the DBs.
