Thought I seen him listed but guess I was wrong.

I don't even care. Good riddance.

We had no chance with him anyways, but that still hurts to hear.

I'm ok with this. Coaches knew they couldn't pull him and gave up the fight, dude is going to DBU and will be another in the line of good ones. I wish we could pull a kid like this but with the defense we field week in and week out, we won't get these guys.

Julian Rochester said we're the school standing out.

Man that statement really rustled your jimmies. We got the point

this is a must get. We really need a big year next year on the defensive line with game changers. We are losing a ton this year and don't really look to be replacing them in this class.

We better sign some cbs next year too. We lose Holsey Reed Mincy Jones after next year. Melton must suck if reed has beat him out haven't even seen Melton this year. Kalverez will be a beast IMO. Still no depth though

Hell yea it did, we are losing commits, guys that we were leading for are now strongly leaning elsewhere, we have no major prospects still on the board except for maybe Ivey, and we have plenty of needs and spots to fill.
I'm not saying it can't change but right now this class is on track to be a letdown so it's frustrating to read other recruits saying other schools are recruiting them hardest. Where are we spending our energy in recruiting right now? 2016?

quote:that should be singular for now. Edwards is the only commit we lost and he was already essentially replaced by Tray Matthews.
we are losing commits,
quote:The only guys we were leading for were Jayson Stanley and Darius Slayton, both of whom dropped on our staff's board. Targets like them who no longer have commitable offers don't count. The only one I'll give you is Holland. The staff is still recruiting him but not with the vigor of UF and UCLA 1. because they feel they met their LB needs with McBryde and Williams if they can hold on to them and 2. word of Holland's behavioral issues at the Rivals 5 Star challenge probably reached the staff and easily could be why McBryde became the staff's #1 LB target.
guys that we were leading for are now strongly leaning elsewhere
quote:The staff feels the DL is the only needs we have left in this class.. As for having plenty of spots, yes under NCAA and SEC rules yes we may have plenty of spots in this class (up to 27). However Gus may not be working with that number. When you account for the current seniors and Golson going on Scholly next May then there would be 18 spots. Maybe Gus is working with a number of 24-25 expecting 6 or 7 losses to attrition. Not judging one way or the other on this part but it's very possible Gus may not have the Saban theory of processing as much as it takes to reach the yearly max amount of singees each year. It seems probable Gus does not have that theory as he originally was under the max in the 2014 class by 4 and looks to be on pace to be around that number below the max this year. AUR recently posted AU is looking to sign 23-24 in this class now.
we have plenty of needs and spots to fill.
quote:While I would love to get every high rated prospect I would not call a top 10 class, which is what we are on pace for, a let down. After all, it has been proven many times over that you can win championships with top 10 talent.
this class is on track to be a letdown

In favor of whom? Why are two highly recruited players at a position of need dropping on the staffs board? We are putting all our eggs in the Kirk basket? Slayton, by all accounts, is an outstanding athlete who could play multiple positions. We have room. Walker as well. Where's the disconnect?
quote:

Since when do behavioral issues stop us from recruiting someone that can play? They must not have been that serious for other schools to still be on him.

They don't feel WR is a need? They should. This class has several solid prospects but is sorely lacking in game breaking talent. Outside of a Prep School RB and Kerryon our highest rated commit is like 91 and two of those guys are strong candidates to flip.
quote:

We are dropping like a rock and are already almost out of the top 10 and trail, significantly, for every other highly rated prospect on our board outside of maybe Ivey.
I understand we can't sign every top prospect but it's just the steady stream of information about dropping players, other schools recruiting players harder, "luxuries", etc... that just doesn't make sense to me.

Depending on attrition, no we don't.

When we run a 2LB system, already have 2 LB committed that we are happy with and potentially have number crunch.

I think E meant DL is the biggest concern by the staff. There appears to be spots for WRs

We also dropped the ball on TE recruiting this year. There were some badass TEs that we had high on the board but they got away.
Chris Clark
Hale Henteges
Bowman Archibald
Also missing on the DEs this year sucks. At one point Johnathon Calvin almost comitted. D'Andre Walker and Natrez Patrick are studs and both headed to UGA it appears. I wanted Marquavius Lewis the most we came close with him :(

Lots of hyperbole and personal perception in your comments. Calm down and change your tampon!

It's tough to recruit defense when your defense has been pretty terrible for half of the past decade. Also, TE recruiting is a crap shoot and it's worth mentioning that our use of the TE turns a lot of the top guys off.
