quote:I'm guessing you meant 2015 and not 2016 here. As such, you're making an awfully big assumption as it is. You're assuming Boston plays star, which I haven't seen a single word from anyone that says he's playing there. Everything I've seen has him at safety. Especially when you consider he got his offer after it was apparent Steven Parker was staying with OU (funny enough, he was arrested a few days ago for public intox) and Simmons was going to USC. Which is why having at least two 'star' recruits this year seems necessary.
We will have Garrett, Alexander and Boston in 2016
Garrett or Alexander go down with an injury in 2015, and we have nobody on the team that right now is listed as third-string for next year.

Every player from the 2014 class has officially been cleared and enrolled

I'm surprised McBryde hasn't pulled the trigger. He has to be waiting on a bama offer IMO. Unless ours isn't committable but I think it is

How often do you have everyone qualify?

On a related note, a poster on AUC who knows the former Charles Henderson coach/current Escambia County coach says the coach toild him McBryde is transferring to EC.

Why in the world would you transfer your senior season when you're already being heavily recruited? That's a lateral move at best and couldn't do anything but hurt his stock IMO.

Two guys. Sullivan and Atkinson are exclusively getting looks at Star. Colbert could play there (and I know there was some talk of him being recruited there) but I'd rather have him at safety unless we pick up another safety commit (crosses fingers for Roundtree).
True but Holland, McBryde, Williams, and Edwards have all mentioned how they could play that Star role. That is a total of 7 guys mentioning the Star position. I think only Sullivan and Atkinson will actually play there but I get his concern

They might be getting the 'star' pitch but neither one of these guys will get looks at the position. Both are LB in our scheme. And with their ability to blitz, both look like OLB in our scheme. Although, I'd rather Holland play MLB.
I completely agree. It seems we throw the Star pitch in to all these guys as a "look at how we will use your athleticism" thing. It really has turned into our Jack LB pitch.
Holland and McBryde to me are the perfect LB combo for our system.

Therezie is gone this year. Garrett will be a SR next year. Mackenro will be a JR next year. Unless Boston ends up moving over there, we don't have much depth at the position in 2015 without some players in this class.
It will be interesting to see where all these safeties land. I thought when we signed King he would be the Star guy but Therezie has shined at that spot. I think we could see a guy like Khari Harding move over there too at some point. End of the day though there is definitely playing time available at that position and I hope we can hang on to Atkinson as I think he is a perfect fit for what EJ wants at that position

Damn, I want Holland Mcbryde and Darryl Williams.

We should just pitch it as an undersized OLB. Tubbs liked em small and fast.

Maybe if Therezie gets drafted, or at least gets alot of hype, players will start liking the position more.

He should. Especially if he gets a few more picks this year.

I think once EJ starts using it the way he wants to use it, it will strt to work better
