Jonathan Calvin has "committed," but hasn't spoken to Malzahn yet

Yeah I like Kennion and Thorton a lot but both need to add a lot of weight before they see the field.

I wonder if we are going to start giving teams the look FSU gave people by having DEs that are 285+. Both Gabe and Montravious can provide adequate pass rush from that spot and would be monsters against the run compared to normal DEs.

Dee Ford saw the field as a true freshman in 2009 at barely over 200 lbs.

Sounds like we will be mixing that in a fair bit anyway, but with our depth and injury issues at DE we may have to out of necessity.

Different staff. This staff will not do that unless we are in dire need at DE. We are thin there but it's not dire yet.

Will be interesting to see what happens with Thornton. Williams is physically ready, but didn't play much competition in HS.

Interesting tidbit. Apopka HS, where Cox and Ivey go to school, has a rule that when players commit then the recruiting process is completely over. No calls, no visits to schools besides the committed school, no nothing.

Interesting...but I doubt a school can dictate a players recruitment.

Probably more a coach rule thing like he won't let the kid play if he keeps going through recruiting or something like that.

they absolutely can. They'll be suspended if they break that rule.

I actually like that, teach the kids to take responsibility for their actions and giving their word.
