10 most wanted per AUC

1. DT, Trent Thompson,
2. OT, Martez Ivey,
3. DE, Marquavius Lewis,
4. OLB, Jeffery Holland,
5. QB, Torrance Gibson,
6. DT, Daron Payne,
7. DT, D.J. Jones,
8. ILB/OLB, Roquan Smith,
9. OT, Drew Richmond,
t10. WR, Deon Cain,
t10. FB, Chandler Cox,

Also KN posted his updated class projection yesterday if anyone wants to summerize. Last time he posted his projection he called Ben Edwards about a month or 2 before he flipped.

Ya these seem a lot more realistic imo. He removed Roundtree, Roquan Smith, Daron Payne, and Natrez Patrick. I will say I will be disappointed if we sign 3 JUCO DL and only 1 HS DL like he has projected at the moment. Very long way from signing day though. Really excited to see what happens this weekend

McBryde

I am only going to post the noncommitted guys he has

4* QB Kai Lockley
3* FB Chandler Cox
4* WR Jayson Stanley (one of those because he feels he has to pick one picks like he did in March and April with guys like Daron and Natrez, etc)
3* TE Jalen Wilkerson (probably same boat as Stanley)
4* OT Tyler Carr
3* C Darryl Williams
4* Juco DE Marquavius Lewis
3* juco DE Johnathan Calvin
4* juco DT DJ Jones
3* DT Jauntavius Johnson
4* LB Jeff Holland
4* LB Richard McBryde
4* CB Darius Slayton

BTW it's a free article. LINK

I think we miss on the majority of our needs this class and I know that sounds pessimistic, but I really believe it.

I agree that a top notch defensive tackle is both the biggest want and need of the class. We need to get off the reliance of JUCO injections to fill those needs and we just don't have the young talent to wean us off right now.

I think the second biggest need of this class is another top notch linebacker to play beside Tre, so I think I would move Holland and Smith up the board to 2 and 3 right now for needs.

Then I would fold in another top notch tackle that can start learning the spots and a intelligent center. He doesn't need to be the most talented but I want a journeyman that can make the calls at the line and still hit his assignments. We have been spoiled with Dismukes as big a pain in the arse as he has been at times. The dude is a hell of a center and has bleed for us for 4 years.

If the coaches really think that Cox can replace Prosch at the H-Back/fullback role, he needs to be around the 5 spot for needs. Prosch opened up lanes in the second tier of defenses last year and that was a big part of our success. Everyone tells me that Fulse can fill this role but until I see it, I will keep a fullback up top in my need list.

I think we need a couple young dbs. We had a really good, really deep DB class last year so we need to add a layer of depth to it. Colbert and Edwards provides us with young depth to the safety spots, Bridges gives us a JUCO injection into it but we still need a young corner or two.

If you're expecting a guy to be as physical at the 3 back position as Prosh was then you need to wake up cuz you're dreaming. Prosh was a freak of nature in terms of the physicality he brought to the position. Fulse and later Cox (if he signs with AU) will fill the 3 back position but not the same way as Prosh. They will be physical but not as physical as Prosh. What they will do is bring more versatility to the position in that they are more natural receivers from that position.

i like prosch, but he's about 3rd or 4th on the list of AU fullbacks in my lifetime (brandon johson, tony richardson, heath evans)... johnson was just as physical, if not more so.

He does not need to be the same level of physicality to be just as effective. Eric Smith was just as effective as Prosch but not as physical.

If Fulse or Cox are extremely proficient blocking in space theyw ill be as effective as Prosch. He got better and was an elite FB but having a stud FB in space blocking will benefit us

I never said nor implied Prosh was the best FB. And Yes Bam Bam was as physical if not more so. Hence his nickname of Bam Bam derived from the kid from the Flintrstones. They were both freaks in terms of physicality to that position but neither one are probably on anybody's top 3 of AU's all time FBs.

I know this will disappoint you (well maybe old NegaBrannigan as opposed to new PosiBrannigan) but we agree and you just made my point for me. Warfarer's post came across as he was only looking at a 1 dimensional freak in physicality at the 3 Back or FB ala Jayggernaut Prosh and Bam Bam Johnson. As you and Spark point out you can be just as effective if not more so by doing physical work and other things important to the offense.
