When Keith/Kipp (not sure which it was) interviewed Roquan after his visit last weekend (pre-NSD), he stated that we were now recruiting him at OLB, not STAR. He seemed pretty happy about that. Sooo, I asked Keith in a thread in Bodda Getta was this a move we made when we saw the negative spin UA/UGA were putting on the position. His response was that it may have had something to do with it but that the kid is now 6'-02"+ and much bigger than 205. so he more than likely will outgrow STAR. IYAM, we figured out the Evans issue and decided to head this one off.

Treon would not have filled that spot. We recruited him just like we did and still are Jason Smith

Love that Jason is on board again, and love his game, but he wasn't the QB that Treon is. Jason was clutch at McG-T but IMO Treon is pretty far ahead arm-wise, arm-skill-wise, patience, vision, etc. As I saw it from afar, Gus/Rhett were pursuing him as QB first, and Offensive Weapon second (maybe DB if all else failed). Just awkward with Sean in the fold.

By all accounts and reports we recruited him as an Athlete w/ a shot at QB. Even if Treon signed with AU we would still be giving 2015 preliminary offers to QBs to go with TQ in the 2015 class like we are now. There are only 2 QBs in the 2014 class that we stayed in touch with til they enrolled that would have changed how we pursue 2015 QBs, Watson and Greir.

Per a Miss St 247 reporter.
-Outstanding prospect
-would have gotten SEC offers had he had the grades in High School
-excellent kick returner and very physical CB
-Good in man and jamming. #nohomo

bridges participated in last years AL/MS all star game... some analysis:
quote:

- At corner, Tony Bridges (Hattiesburg, Miss.) impressed. The 6-foot-0, 180-pounder flashed quick feet, the ability to recover and impressive natural strength. Bridges had the full attention of junior college coaches from East Mississippi and Hinds.

- Defensive back Tony Bridges (Hattiesburg, Miss.) continues to flash his ability with the body that can add 10-15-pounds of muscle mass/weight down the line.

also, anyone kinda find the timing of this a little funny considering Bessent's weekend arrest?... may be nothing but a coincidence.

Regardless, gotta think Melvin Smith was all over this kid while he was at MSU
