However, as Thomas himself recently pointed out, it was almost a problem that Auburn didn’t have because when the recruiting process was coming down to the wire, he was full ready to commit to the rival Alabama Crimson Tide, the team that he grew up idolizing.
He was ready, that is, until Nick Saban and the coaching staff told him to hold up, something Thomas wouldn’t have any of.
“I was like, ‘Well, no I’m not going to hold on. If y’all want my commitment, then y’all will let me commit right now,’” Thomas told ESPN.com.
Thomas then went on to say that the decision may have surprised most that knew him, but he ultimately made the decision that was best for him in the end.
Sorry you were rejected late in the process.

The bonus to that is Roc will have a chip on his shoulder in every Iron Bowl he plays in.

The best part was him hiding from Lane Kiffin.

I was told by a lot of people familiar with Roc's recruitment that he is "extremely confident in his abilities." Implication is that he had a lot of pride and there was no way he was going to sign with Bama.

I remember a running back out of bessemer, Alabama...similar type story....
Bo came away decidedly unimpressed with Bryant, who thought Jackson should sit on the bench for his first couple years of college, and maybe play defensive end or linebacker instead of running back when he was ready to play. Bo went to Auburn and scored the winning touchdown to beat Alabama as a freshman.

So what you're saying is "Roc Over the Top"?

Irony of this story: Don't slow play the Roc. He's doesn't play that game.

Bama offered Mack Wilson today and someone already Cb'd him to Bama. Apparently he grew up a Bama fan in a large Bama family. I'm going to go ahead and concede him.

How'd you know to ask him to add the name Lyndell?
