Per AUR LINK

Eric Swinney will visit practice Tuesday or Thursday. He has a top 5 of AU, UGA, FSU, Rebs, & Vols. Plans to commit in August or sooner.

SQ is a run stopping fool! He is one that could come in and play some as a FR @ LB. He is already big enough.

Okay, what if KJ commits and we get Jovon? Then could we take Swinney as well? I don't see all 3 coming, but JR won't be in town long...Just thinking it out...

very unlikely that KJ would remain in the class if that happens, but I'd like for it to happen. Because if Jovon is good enough to be one and done, we'll have to sign 2 RB again next class.

IMO, Barber will be too good to bench even with Jovon here. He won't be here for more than 3 more years either, IMO.

Again, the argument isn't that because KJ is from 2A, he can't be a good player.

Ya, I mean our future stud wide receiver Dorial Green Beckham set records in like 1A he translated very well in the college game. Can't wait to get him

Give him a little time for God to show him the way, then he will find his way home to Gus.

We're getting alot more CB picks today for KJ. The projections are 68% AU, 18% Bama, 14% FSU.

From reading the "behind the crystal ball" article on Johnson, it seems all of the insiders think it's a tossup between us and FSU.

If I had to pick one, I think he'll pick FSU just because it was his last visit and they just told him he was their top RB target. The CB predictions might just be them guessing to get their picks in and see other picking us so they did.

With the edge to AU. Here is some good stuff in that article. LINK
quote:

Kipp Adams (Southeast Analyst)-I predict Kerryon Johnson to pick Auburn on Tuesday because he says himself that comfort level is a major factor. When talking about Auburn, Johnson told Bama Online that Auburn "feels like a big family when you're down there. It's just a different feel to it than other places. They all treat each other like family. They're all nice and trustworthy people and that's what I like about them." [Auburn RB coach] Tim Horton has been recruiting Johnson since he was a freshman, and Auburn has been recruiting Johnson harder than anyone. They have sold him on the chance to play running back, and if they get him it will be a true testament to the Auburn staff that they were able to come in trailing other programs and land a top 50-prospect in the country.

Chris Nee (FSU 247)-Ultimately, it comes down to coaching relationships. With FSU, his best relationship early on was Jeremy Pruitt who departed for Georgia. I feel Auburn stands out to him the most in that specific category

Demetric Warren (Big Time Bama guy)-My AU pick for Kerryon Johnson is based off the fact that Kerryon always wanted to play RB but Alabama initially wanted him to play safety. It was only just recently that Alabama had a change of heart and will bring him in as a RB. Meanwhile, AU wanted him as a RB from Day 1.

I did not know Horton's relationship with KJ goes back to his freshman year. I think that and AU always having KJ as RB since we started recruiting him will be the deciding factors.

I love how DWarren spins it as if Bama would have gotten him fi they always pursued as a RB.

I still stick with my FSU prediction though it is closer (family really likes AU despite being FSU people)

KJ was never going to Bama though. I would bet a 30rack of beer on it and easily win.

Last visits are overrated. There are cases where they get the W but there are many, many more where they don't.

As for the top RB part, that may have been what FSU staff said but it's not what FSU 247 reported. They reported KJ is now a priority at RB for them. That's not necessarily the same as being the #1. It may or may not be.

Not IMO. It seemed like they were picking us just because they were forced to pick somebody. To me it seemed most really don't know at all which of the two he would pick. They could see the argument for AU and FSU.

8 of the 10 picked Auburn. The only two that didn't are bama lead writers - Charles Power for BOL and their Bleacher Report writer, who picked FSU.

Barton Simmons, who is listed as bama, says in the comments that he originally picked bama last August, but changed it today "given some of the recent buzz."

the 'recent buzz' could be just groupthink amongst the recuiting media guys... most of them are obssessed with not getting caught without info.

That is why I specifically quoted Kipp and Chris Nee. Those 2 aree not piggybackers and gave the most logical evidence for their picks.
