Practice Notes:
-Granger sat out practice due to "concussion symptoms"
-Granger is competing against Spencer for first big man off the bench
-Canty,Tahj, Bowers and Harris are becoming established starters
-Dunans, Brown, Lang and Purifoy(if eligible) are competing for starting wing
-Pearl said top 8 group is becoming clearer
-veterans need to be better and Pearl is harder on those guys than the newcomers
-practice was sloppy

Just watched pearl's post practice interview. Sounds like the team may take some time to develop. Could be a slow start to the season.
Any rumors on when we will know something on Purifoy? He ran with the scout team yesterday, which isn't encouraging.

I don't think updates on Purifoy come until a decision has been made.
While it is Pearl's 2nd year, this will be his first attempt to run his style of basketball. He is also doing this with a number of new AU players whether FR or transfers.
We don't have an "easy" non conference schedule with UAB, Colorado, @Xavier, @Coastal Carolina & Hawaii Tournament

The scout team had at least New Williams, D. Purifoy and Waddell who went like 4/5 from 3pt land. If you are hitting 3s and had ultra talented guys it isn't unbelievable to keep it within 11
The first team had 8 guys so I imagine it was something like
Canty, Tahj, Harris, Bowers, Spencer, Brown, Lang, Dunans (No Granger concussion)

Our scout team is known for practicing their 3s. If we have a bunch of new guys learning how we want to play defense, I imagine a lot of kids were left open and a lot of them drained 3s.
