I don't want that clown. He's, like, 6'2 and 160 pounds soaking wet. He'll get murdered in the SEC. And I'd rather have Nick Marshall, Jeremy Johnson, or Jonathan Wallace take over for a couple of years.

As for the debate on wanting him or not, someone pointed this out on TOOS and I think they are spot on. Craig worked with him for 3 years and would know much better than us if the kid is worth the look. I do not know if Trickett is the answer or not but Studying Gus I can tell you this much. Gus will choose the QB who is the most efficient passer and best at managing turnovers.

If they are bringing him in to start frick us. If they are bringing him in to compete we could be on to something

A couple of notes. The coaches feel they can flip Stephen Roberts and will stay on him.
This will be interesting. I mean, Bama has good alternatives to Roberts so the sting of losing him would be more about losing him to us. I feel like the question will be, how much effort does Bama put in to keeping him on board?
Also, any update on Jakell Mitchell?

You dont want a QB that is likely easily better than both of the kids currently on campus? Starting Jeremy Johnson would be asinine, so you are more or less banking everything on Nick Marshall. What is the downside here? If he comes in and he's the best, then he is the best and it will help on the field.
BTW the kid has Celiac disease so cut him some slack. He has put on weight since the diagnosis and subsequent change in diet. The stick-figure pictures are old.

I like Trickett, he can throw a pretty good deep ball. Agree with you metafour, I would rather bring him in and cut Frazier. That way we have one more guy that can possibly not be a shitty QB.

Wow Metafour. I did not know you had a heart. Thanks for the info on Trickett.

I'm all for Trickett. Worst case scenario is he sucks and rides the bench.

It's a given that Kiehl Frazier sucks, but I wouldn't classify Clint Trickett as being better than Jonathan Wallace. He's only had one good game in his career (against a noteworthy team), and that was against Clemson. Every other time he saw the field it was against ULM, Charleston Southern, Wake Forest (threw 2 interceptions in 11 passes), Murray State, Savannah State, Boston College (completed 2 passes for 9 yards), Duke (completed 1 pass in 5 attempts), etc... He hasn't done anything to prove he's better than Jonathan Wallace. shite, at least Wallace went up against SEC defenses for experience and has been in the offense all spring.

Let Nick Marshall, Jeremy Johnson, Jonathan Wallace, and to an extent, Kiehl Frazuer, battle it out for starter.

Trickett has a 62% completion percentage on 100+ attempts and a positive TD/INT ratio. That alone puts him above anything we currently have on campus. Jonathan Wallace has not done a damn thing. He had one marginally notable game against Texas A&M...a game in which we were down by a million points with A&M's defense packing their shite up for the following week's game. The Wallace feel-good story is nice and all, but the kid is a mid-major QB.
Trickett is not a scrub. He was in serious contention for FSU's starting job and they are a mile ahead of us right now in terms of where they stand as a team. Furthermore, this kid has received interest from WVU and Willie Taggart at USF in his transfer search...those are legitimate programs, and along with our interest, should clearly signal that the kid can play. If Wallace and/or Frazier announced they were transferring, they would not be receiving that interest.

quote:If Trickett is better at managing the pass game than everyone but Johnson then it would best if Trickett were here and starting. Even though there have been some true frosh that have done well in the SEC their success has been few and far between. You want to do whatever you can to keep Johnson on the bench this year. From a scholly stand point Trickett would only be on the books for 1 & 1/2 years so no downside there. Another thing that could be a positive is if Trickett comes in and win the job not only do you get to move Jason Smith to WR you may get to move J-Wall and/or NM to a WR core that desperately needs depth even with the new receivers coming in.
Well, yeah, pretty much. And I'd rather have him (Johnson) over Clint Trickett.
