Where from KK? The interviews with 247 and Rivals after A Day he said Bama was still #1.

Agreed. Especially if the nugget is true that BOL dropped of Stephen Roberts committing tomorrow or soon is true.

DeShaun Davis is doing well after undergoing surgery to repair his left ACL.

Good. It wasn't a full tear iirc, so that is a plus.

Earnest told Justin Hoke that he made a 21 on his ACT and wasn't red-flagged and passed his graduate exam. He said he feels confident that he's good to go to report in June.

Spoke with signee Brandon King. He's 6'2.5, 215-pounds, recruited for safety/star. Swears by a 4.36 laser (track) 40-yard time last summer.

an in-state CB picking Bama.... no exactly a shocking development. They've sent how many corners/DBs to the league?
We had an opportunity to improve our defensive-recruiting when we seriously considered Smart as HC... we hired an offensive-minded HC instead. The fact that we're behind, from recruiting standpoint, on that side of the ball should not surprise anyone, IMO.

As for the future the verdict is out but CEJ and CRG have routinely put players in the pros and recruited well.

Adams and Lawson could've easily signed here had Smart taken the job (but that's pure speculation). Smart would've in all likelihood hired Pruitt as his DC, which would've really created a some strong recruiting on that side of the ball (who knows, Walker might've ended up here had things played out differently).
We hired a strong recruiter on the DL, so it's no surprise that our top three defensive players are on the line. The back seven certainly left some to be desired, considering who we missed out on.
I think we'll be fine, but this staff is really going to have to do it's homework when it comes to recruiting and signing LBs and DBs. We're down the pecking order right now. The evaluation process is HUGE.
