Overall, the class is a top 15 class and might not get much higher, possibly tenish. This class is more about shoring up glaring needs than it is adding frivolous high star players to pad class rankings.
Agree with this.

After seeing Bone tweet to Roc though I am a little worried.
Roc doesn't strike me as a nonsense type of guy. I think UAT burned that bridge by slow playing him.

Does anyone know if Chris Laye is going to potentially be groomed into an OT?

Not unless he gains 70 pounds, he should be a good blocking TE though.
I have no idea what they expect out of Devaroe Lawrence dude never seems to play for his juco team.

I haven't been keeping up with recruiting. How would you grade our class this far
Here are the current team and quality of recruit rankings for Auburn
Team Rankings
247: 9th
Rivals: 16th
ESPN: 15th (very easily could go up when ESPN ranks jucos)
Scout: 21st
Composite: 13th
recruit quality
247: 5th 90.81 average grade
Rivals: 7th 3.56 average stars
ESPN: 5th 3.75 average stars
Scout: 10th 3.44 average stars (just got a dramatic jump with DQ getting his 5th* on Scout)
Composite: 10th 89.24 average grade (will go up after DQ's 5th* from Scout is factored in.)
Top Targets

What's the risk? Have him be a silent commit and recruit like he's not committed. If he flips, oh well no harm done it's what we expected. If he doesn't flip, then we get a solid Center prospect.
And if he flipped, what confidentiality agreement is it that would keep him from presenting his Big AU Story to the recruiting sites?

What stops him from presenting the story even if it never happens?
BTW I highly doubt Alabama is getting guys to commit to us just so they can flip. That's some ITAT crap right there. I believe Yeldon, Liner, and Foster all had intentions to come to Auburn when they first committed. Now Alabama might have told them when to flip and how to flip, that's more believable.

Besides he still was planning to take visits to Bama and FSU. No way the staff was going to let him recommit publicly nor privately and let him take visits with the mistrust he has generated with the staff. To take more visit Cash would have to do it without the staff's knowledge which would only make the mistrust worse when the staff would find out. The staff did the right thing. Let a kid go that you feel you can't trust.

I'm glad these decisions are being made by people who have the benefit of years, and in some cases decades of recruiting experience, as well as months of very calculated interactions with these recruits (and their big brothers, ahem), and not some whiny message board knowitalls.
Good grief guys, we're going to be fine.

Yes because coaches never make mistakes.

Since when is giving your opinion on a matter, being a whiny know it all? I'm not saying I know more than the coaches just that I would've probably done it differently. I could very possibly be wrong.

It's now "frivolous" to sign as many good players as possible? That's a good one.
Recruiting obviously isn't going as well as we'd like.

where would you like it?... this year is going better than Chiz's first year (started off slow, closed strong), and I don't remember 1999, but I'm betting it's going better than Tub's first year as well.

Meh. We'll wind up with a top 5 class next year. Patience
