Per Kieth Niebuhr, Jacques Patrick says he was told he is our #1 target for RB in the next class. He'll release a top 10 after his season and we'll be in it. Really likes the staff and the offense.

Big kid.

So, just for kicks, say we get him in 2015. We'll have some big arse RB's in 2016 in Barber, Pettway, Patrick and Thomas, who would probably be the lightest of those 4. That's probably 3 RB's over 225.

How many RBs are we going to take next year?

We'll have:
1. Roc Thomas (hopefully)
2. Peyton Barber
3. Kamryn Pettway

And possibly Jonathan Ford if he moves back. So 2-3?

Only because Kerryon Johnson is almost a for sure lock to leave Alabama

Yes. We're done with RBs this year so I'm wondering how many RBs we take in the 2015 class.

I would think probably 1. We'll be pretty young at RB in 2016.

2016 RB's will be -

Barber - Rsoph
Thomas - soph(most likely)
Pettway - RFr or Soph
Ford? - Jr

and 1 or 2 from the 2015 class. I have to think Gus wants a speed back - my guess is Ford gets moved back to RB. If Ford doesn't move back, we'd take 2 I would think. A bigger back and a speed back.

I don't think it really makes much sense to have more than about 5 scholarship RB's on your roster at any given time. 6 at the absolute most.

The early projection for next year is Auburn takes 2 RBs FWIW.

Big kid. Not knowing anything about his situation, I assume it'll be hard to snag him away from UF & OSU.

Nice to have competition again. I'd guess that the 3rd string might be moved to the Hback/Fullback role.

Per AUC LINK

-Casher higher on the board than Sims
-Sims not a definite take
-Auburn is concerned about Sims' weight

-Staff high on juco OT Jordan Prestwood
-Trying to get him in for an OV
-FSU main competitor
-Very versitile, can play OT or as a big TE

-Odds look very good Auburn keeps DQ
-He is not a priority for LSU (I would not want to be LSU next year if things play out like this. DQ will have a huge chip on his shoulder for that game)

Last I read, they are worried about losing Noil and a couple other recruits if they start pressing DQ. Their loss, our gain. The guy is a freak.

DQ is an EE correct? If so then I am much more confident in us holding on to him

Do not want.. The guy is a soft 345. Doubt he'd ever see the field in Malzahn's offense. And before anyone says "college S&C", we've seen that not come to fruition several times in the recent past.. There has to be better options on the take.

I don't know if we had a college S&C program with the last staff.

Good fricking point.

ETA: Someone down-voted you due to their man-crush of Yox I suppose.

Yox was not the issue. Chiz took away Yox's authority and ability to discipline players the last couple of years.

I never stated Yox was the issue. It's well known where the buck stopped.

I understand your point. I am not saying Sims should be a take. He definitely has weight issues but the reality is he does have some SEC ability. He was the only OL to stop 2015 5* DT Duron Payne at a Bama camp this summer.Just an FWIW.

That son of a bitch! Not a down vote

We know Yox wasn't the problem. Calm down whoever you are.
