Both him and Jordan Moore should be in Auburn right now. For the life of me, I do not understand how we let both of them get away

FWIW, Jordan Moore is a backup running back who's barely seen the field at TCU... i looked him up a couple weeks ago during their thursday night game and was curious if he was playing in their defensive backfield.

i'm not sure he would've made a good safety or not... Gary Patterson knows how to scout defensive talent, and JM hasn't played defense yet... or maybe they recruited him for offense to begin with.

Just saying that a 6'3 220 pound track and field standout who has highlights of him laying wood has more potential than 3/4ths of our LBs right now

That's why TCU got him.

At some point, you got to wonder why UA is taking so many RBs if they bring on Jovon.
There is no wondering about it. Saban knows you win big-time football by running the ball and stopping the run. He takes as many RBs as possible because he knows that lowers his chances of getting beat.

Something we need to do with QBs, DL, and LBers

like ellitor mentioned, track had a lot to do with it, but Auburn's track program was actively helping in JM's recruitement... he met with coach spry when he visited auburn, and AU's track program (while maybe not as good as TCUs) is solid.

IIRC, it had more to do with TCU recruiting him longer and giving him the opportunity to play offense... TCU was on him for several months before other 'big' programs started showing interest. He didn't really start getting hype until he played safety midway through his senior season... when that tape got out there, he sorta blew up.

There's no way to know what he'd be doing if he came to Auburn... but I kinda doubt he'd be a major contributor at LB, or even safety... mainly for two reasons -- he had very limited experience playing defense in HS, and our previous staff was god awful at developing talent.

If you haven't seen the newest video of Josh Casher and Tre' Williams, and you're able to get access to AuburnSports.com, I recommend you taking a look at it. Great video all around, very positive news for Auburn, and both guys show great character (and Josh Casher is very well spoken, FWIW).

Here it is: LINK

I think Bama and FSU maybe other schools enticed him with the thoughts of playing some other position than Center. But let's be real, you don't see many 6'1 6'2 Guards. Bama is signing a heck of an Oline class and blowing smoke up Casher's arse telling him he'll play guard.

Or maybe Bama sees him as a potential OLine prospect and they are not trying to close any doors in case they want him for later?

We do the same thing all the time. Guys like Terrence Prescod, Myron Burton and many more are looking for Auburn offers and potentially won't receive one.

You tell them what you want to hear. I never believe that Bama signs kids in spite of Auburn, I just believe that they are willing to push them away from Auburn to schools like FSU

Yeah, and his listed height on recruiting websites is probably pretty generous...

Based on the reports of his strength though and playing center, the downsides of being short on the OLine (shorter arms and typically not as much strength or punch) usually is negated. Length isn't as important in the interior and his lower natural pad level can't hurt either.

Let's also not forget that Nick Marshall needs shorter interior lineman if he is ever going to try and find a passing lane to use
