Can we have an open discussion about using athlete's initials in place of their name? I kind of get CAP because it spells a word or whatever but I feel like we're getting carried away with it now

I feel like your initial mention of a recruit/player should be his name but after that it can be initials
Unless it is someone clearly familiar like JH because I don't want to waste time spelling Jake Holland. It is too depressing thinking a bout him that long

I do it on my phone all the time, and it's always directly in response to a post about the player with those initials. Everyone knows that my last post in this thread was in reference to Peyton Barber because of who I was responding to. That said, it can get a little out of hand at times, and I've definitely been guilty a time or two.

Per JH. 4* DE and Rivals Challenge standout Davon Godchaux reached out to Auburn recently. Tre talked up Auburn to Davon and peeked his interest. He then talked to CDC and now wants to get to know Garner & Gus. He wants to visit soon also. There is mutual interest.

Not singling anyone out, this thread is full of examples so there's no need. When Im reading posts I don't read initials naturally so it's like having a bunch of commas or periods sprinkled in the middle of otherwise perfectly fine sentences
