True but with being limited to 25 schollies per year it's getting harder and harder for kids to get commitable offers from their favorite teams.

I'm curious how commitable Mitchell's bama offer is at this point... He doesn't seem to fit their mold for a TE (they tend to like them bigger with more emphasis on blocking).

He's probably an H-back for either program, but I think our offense fits his skill set better. Not that bama doesn't use that position (smelley ate us alive two years ago in auburn), but we seem to be more diverse.

I really like Mitchell as a football player... he's the kind of talent you like to sign... just a good athlete who could end up at any number of positions, once he fills out his frame.

so whats up with Roc Thomas, I thought the bama fans said he did not have an offer yet. I saw this from the ask.com link on the BCW thread

quote:

(Dont have Bama Offer) I do have an offer. You need to do your home work. You've been told false info

ETA> and he is hillarious. He would fit in well on the SECr

I have not seen a Bama fan say Roc did not have an offer. I have only seen them be frustrated the Bama staff is not going hard after him.

Maybe I misread, I thought they were waiting for LF to play out before offering. I am probably mistaken

Per BM: JJ, Flowers, Mix, and Melton started class today. Ford, Davis, and Monty expected in this weekend to start classes on Monday. Per Hoke, the other 13 are expected on June 14-15 for the second summer term.

No you're right. They've "offered" him, but it's not committable. They don't want him committing and ending their chances with Fournette just yet

JJ will have the leg up on NM for summer "voluntary" workouts.

This is going to be an interesting fall camp.

Not to argue symantics, but that doesnt really sound like an offer, if true

I want to hear more about Saban leaving
His lake house in north Georgia (Lake Rabun?) is up for sale. Take it for what it's worth.

In all honesty I don't think he does leave. I think he retires from Bama. He and Belichick are the same age (Nick is actually about 6 months older), so I don't really see Bill reaching a retirement point that much earlier than Nick. Even if Bill retired at 65, would Nick want to jump to the NFL then? If so, how long would he want to coach, until he is 70? Seems crazy to make the move just to spend 5 years there. Also, who is the oldest coach in the NFL right now, and who is the oldest most recent hire. Even with Nick's amazing college record, would a team want to hire a coach in his mid 60s with a less than stellar NFL record?

Supposedly he has a second house on that lake

I agreed with this. A former board of trustees member grandaughter disagrees based on what her grandfather said though. The New England thing isn't for sure. I do know he wouldn't leave without a perfect situation waiting for him.

It gets brought up every year that people are trying to hire him

FWIW, it's a spec house he and a few other people went in on, in hopes to make some money. He has another house, same lake, that he lives in.

Yeah, wish NM was enrolled already. Is he allowed to have a playbook yet, or does he have to wait to enroll?

I am pretty sure they can send it to them. wife's cousin, got setup on a nutritional plan, work outs and playbooks, all before he finished senior year. At a div 1-aa school

You get everything they want to send you and will even give them positional drills.

I wonder if they can tape them going through drills then send the video off for analysis. That I don't know

I'm sure you can. That's no different than recruits sending tape to coaches
